The old King’s abode was humble and consisted of only the most basic furniture. Though it didn’t seem like a large house from the outside, it was quite spacious on the inside.
Florio asked Jake and Emily to wait outside the court while he went inside to seek the approval of the King. Jake just hoped his appearance wouldn’t scare the people inside the court. Things however went rather smoothly. Within a few minutes, 2 courtiers were sent to escort the guests to the court.
Jake and Emily both bowed to the King before introducing themselves. He was a weary looking man with an unkempt grey beard. On his head rested a crown made of silver. It wasn’t as magnificent as the gold crown worn by Prince Varius but it was certainly fitting for a man of his stature.
