The first annual Anna Geller Convention was held in September, two thousand and eleven, in Pittsburgh, the location of the poet’s thirty-ninth visit. The school year was already underway, but because the convention took place from Friday night to Sunday morning, I was able to attend without taking any time off. The organizers were a group of ten women and ten men, who called themselves, The Anna Geller Society of Pennsylvania. Nine of them were English Professors or doctoral students from the University of Pittsburgh, four were English Professors from Temple University in Philadelphia, three were poets of some renown and four worked outside academia but were poetry lovers.
