After convincing Janice that they were safe, Megan hung up and turned to talk to the others, only to discover that Aidan had left the room. Lucy shrugged at Megan’s questioning look, but Debbie pointed back towards the kitchen. Wondering what the man was up to, the three women followed in the direction he had gone. But when they entered the kitchen, it was empty with no sign of Aidan.
“Now what?” Lucy asked.
“We wait for someone to show up. We need to determine when those chairs were moved around. I’m sure the sheriff and his officers didn’t move them, but he will want to see what is going on out here. And I want to know how someone got onto the property if we had a security service out here.”
