EVAN'S POV I wasn't expecting him to be so bitter. But I guess he has every right to be resentful considering the horror he has been through. Being confined in a tiny cage in a dark room for three days is enough to drive an adult human crazy. Hunger and thirst and the need to fully stretch his bones my have been too much to bear. I wonder why he so badly wanted to run when the consequences of being caught were so brutal. He probably thought he could successfully get away and be a free human even if he is the size of a toddler. I can't ask him all the questions now because he must still be tired. "First I want to know if you're feeling okay. Is there something you would like me to get for you?" His eyes narrow in confusion. "Why are you . . . pretending to be nice?" He stutters.
