**Stormy POV** Where the f**k did, he go? Are you serious right now? Did he really get me right there and then f*****g left? FUUUUCCCKKKK. I hear my phone ringing and I toss the bed around trying to find it, found it! A text and looky looky it’s from Danny. ‘Sorry babe doesn’t wanna cross that line just yet. When I do, I want to be able to enjoy it. I’ll be here to pick you up tomorrow around 9 AM.’ That son-of-a-b***h he’s lucky he’s cute. After about an hour or two I texted Kelly to see what she was up to because I was deathly bored lying here in bed thinking about what happened earlier. “Hey, Kels, what are you up to?” “Currently eating pizza, you?” “Absolutely nothing, come over.” “Already en route and brining the pizza with me.” “KK” I jump up and get dressed in my pajamas and pull out the wine bottle I’ve been storing in my fridge. After 20 minutes she’s walking in two pizzas in tow and Kendra following the cheese trail. “So, Kendra told me about your beau. I heard about his family from my beau, just be careful ok?” Kelly raising one eyebrow and while sipping her wine. “Kels, He was so fine. So, he might be a little dangerous. That just makes him sexier.” Kendra says as she walks to the bathroom. “He seems nice enough but out of curiosity what did you hear?” I ask Kelly since she mentioned it, it must be bad. “I just hear that his family is involved in a lot of “big boss” s**t and most people dealing with them are the wrong kind. BE CAREFUL!!” She says and then begins devouring her pizza. “I promise to be careful, I have a date with him tomorrow. I think I might actually try this time.” I smiled at her and sipped my wine. I must admit she has me freaked the f**k out. I woke up to the sun warming my face, I sat up to find myself still in the living room on the couch. Kendra on the loveseat and Kels sprawled out on the floor. The TV still playing episodes of Bobs’ Burgers. Pizza boxes and empty bottles of wine scattered across the room. What a mess! I guess I’ll clean it up. I start picking up pillows and trash and moving them to their respected corners when I hear a knock on the door. I walk over and peek out of the peephole and see him leaned against the door frame waiting for me to answer. I pop the lock on the door and walk away continuing my cleaning. He doesn’t wait for the invitation and walks in not saying a word he begins picking the trash up and taking it to the kitchen. I walk into the kitchen and put on a pot of coffee because I honestly need it. I’m leaning against the counter waiting for the coffee to complete its creation when I’m twirled around to face him. I’m pulled into a hug that is warm and cozy like a warm blanket on a winter morning. My head rests against his chest where I can hear his heart beating, the sound drumming through his chest is so soothing it’s putting me back to sleep. He kisses my forehead and tells me the coffee is ready, with that he lets me go and sits on the other side of the counter on the stool. “So, Good Morning. Still mad at me?” He asks as if he didn’t already know the answer. “What if I did that to you? Got you right there and then left? Would you still be mad?” I said whispering because I didn’t want to wake those two. “I’d be pissed too,” Kendra says laughing because she was listening this entire time. “Well, well, well. This must be the infamous Danny.” She said as she sat up stretching, throwing her pillow at Kelly. “Yep, I’m Danny Nice to Meet you?” He said looking back at me with a what in the world did I walk into the look on his face. “What the f**k Kendr…” Kelly shouted before realizing Danny was in the room. “Oh s**t, Danny DiMarco.” She said nearly choking on her spit. “Good morning Kelly.” He said before completely turning away and looking back at me. “Okkkk, what was that?” Kendra said before I could get the words out of my mouth. “Nothing,” they both said in unison. I looked at Danny and raised my eyebrow, there’s something going on and I want to know. I told him to come with me to help me get dressed for our date. I sat him on the bed and ran into the bathroom to jump in the shower, decided on the cold shower to jolt me awake because a warm shower would have me climbing in the bed and going back to sleep. I climbed out of the shower and had just begun to brush my teeth when I feel warm and strong hands snaking around my waist. I feel light kisses brushing my ear lobes and then someone whispering in my ear, “You are one of the 7 wonders of the world. It’s a wonder why you’ve been single for so long. No hurry up, I want to show you off.” He walks back into my room when Kendra storms into the bathroom and shuts the door connecting to my room. “They f****d” she whispers. “Who f****d?” I ask trying to figure out what the hell is going on. “They, meaning Danny and Kelly, f****d, 2 years ago. He never called her back” she whispers and then begins laughing hysterically. “Why is that funny?” I ask because now I’m f*****g confused. “Because clearly, I’ve been right all these years, her stank p***y was rejected but here he is the same guy the ditched her is now swooning over you.” she blurts out amidst her laughter. “I feel bad, had I known I would have never…” she cuts me off before I can finish my statement, “Don’t say that s**t. Look whatever happened between them is between them. He clearly didn’t like her, and he’s been here pretty much every day since he’s met you. Do not let her interrupt your happiness with her bullshit. Okay?” Kendra says with that stern look on her face. I shrug my shoulders and continue getting ready. I go back into the room and he’s sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for me. As I am looking for a shirt to put on, I nonchalantly say, “So you know Kelly?” “Mhm” “How?” “We hooked up a while back, things got a little weird.” “Weird? Like stalker vibes or something?” “A little something like that. “Is that why she told me to stay away from you? She said your family is dangerous.” “She’s right. My family, their dealings things can get dangerous, but I doubt that’s why she said it.” “Ok…. We’ll talk more over breakfast?” “Ok.” I find him running his hands through his hair as if he’s worried about something, at least he didn’t lie to me. The drive to the diner was quiet and ominous as if there was something he needed to say. When we arrived at the diner he got out of the car and went straight in never uttering a word to me, I got out of the car and rushed in to catch up to him. I found him sitting at a table with a few other people. He was leaned over and whispering in a girl's ear that sat next to him, as I approached the table the girl started laughing and then looked at me with a grin across her ugly face. He then straightened up and looked at me. I had half a mind to slap the f**k out of him and go outside to wait for an Uber. I can’t believe he brought me here to try and embarrass me in front of his friends I guess, well mama didn’t raise no fool. I never even sat down, I turned around and was heading for the door when you hear him leap from the table and grab me by the waist and carry me back to the table. I didn’t even put up a fight because what would be the point, he’d catch me every time. I heard cheering and laughing from the table as he returned, he finally set me down on my feet. “What wrong?” He says pulling me into him and not giving me any space to try and run away again. “Who was that?” I asked, almost pouting. “Oh, you’re jealous. I like that.” He says grinning as if he won a special prize, “No ass, not jealous. Just don’t feel like being somewhere with your girlfriend in the room.” I had to admit I was sounding a bit jealous, but he’d never get the pleasure of me admitting it. “Not a girlfriend, just a friend that happens to think my brother the one she’s here with has a small d**k too.” He says kissing my forehead and then taking a seat. “Welcome to the table of Idiots, you’re probably going to run away again.” The big one shouts from the other end of the table before letting out this loud hearty laugh. I take a seat next to Danny and realize all these guys look alike, they all have emerald green eyes and a wicked smile. All of them are tall and stocky, none of them miss any meals. And I’ve seen all of them before, that’s right the other night at the club. Why would he introduce me to his family? We just met. We sat for what felt like hours and everyone slowly left the table. Hearing them all laugh and job, occasionally the guys would pretend to fight which honestly looks like two Goliath’s fighting it was super nice. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed myself going out, too bad today is the end of it. After the littlest one leaves, Connor I believe his name is, it’s just me and Danny. He takes my hand and guides me to a booth in the back of the diner and tells the waitress to clean up the table, “Yes sir” she says and runs off like a little mouse to get started. “That was rude of you,” I say raising one eyebrow at him, I do not deal with rude. “How so?” He says smiling at me as if he knows something I don’t know. “Well you barked an order at that nice waitress, you’re not her boss!” I say staring at him and then he begins to laugh hysterically. “Actually, my family owns this place. Truthfully, my family owns half this town but that’s neither here nor there.” He then sits back proud of himself. “I don’t care if your family was the dictator of China, rude is rude,” I say folding my arms. The waitress returns with food and drinks we didn’t order, I guess he preordered. “Gladys, I’m sorry if I was rude early.” He says sounding sincere. She just stood there processing what he had said and then ran off back into the kitchen. “See, that didn’t kill you,” I say smiling at him, he just rolls his eyes and starts to eat. I can barely eat so I pick at my food, I’m still wondering about the “Kelly” thing. After he finishes his food, he asks Gladys to bring us more coffee. He then sits back and stares at me. “Still wondering about your friend Kelly and Me huh?” He says, it seems like his mood shifted. I stare at him watching his face go from happy go lucky to grim, hardened and sour. His eyes went from Bright emerald green to dark green almost black. “Yes, just a little. But, I’m more concerned about your eyes, they’re almost black. I didn’t even know that was possible.” I say observing the change in his eyes and before I could get a better view, he jumps up from the table and says lets’ go. Not sure what I said that was so wrong I sat there for a moment trying to figure him out. I finally slid out from the booth and started towards the car. He was already in the driver's seat, his face still hardened as if he’s upset about something. I climb into the passenger seat and opt not to talk, He starts the car and we’re off. We drove for a while and stopped at this old farm grounds, we drove onto the property and stopped by an old oak tree. I got out of the car and started looking around, this place was beautiful and creepy at the same time. He came around and took my hand and we walked through the brush which let us out at a lake. He walked to the end of the pier and sat down. I slowly made my way to him and took a seat next to him. “Are you ok? You’ve been acting weird all day since the Kelly thing” I say peeking over at him. “Yeah, I’m cool,” He says still not looking at me, which makes me think something is wrong. “What happened with you and Kelly for real?” I ask, still looking at him “Look Kelly and I had a good thing for a few months, then she found out something about my family that wasn’t really public records. When I went to break up with her, she wanted to use that information to try to make me stay with her. It got weird, fast. She hates me because I still broke up with her. I didn’t mean to hurt her, but our relationship had to end.” He never looked at me, still staring across the water. His face still hardened, eyes still dark and mysterious. “Well, that’s no reason to get all upset. s**t happens, speaking of s**t why the f**k is your eyes almost black? Is this a magic trick?” I said running my hand under his chin and turning his head towards me so I can finally look at him. But when I did this his eyes were normal, back to the beautiful green jewels. “Nothing crazy. Let’s go, I’m done with being all weird.” He then gets up and lifts me up to follow him. He holds my hand all the way to the car and I feel little shocks of electricity going up my arm, I don’t know why but I feel like we're meant to be. The drive home is quiet, but he holds my hand the entire time. He’s such the gentleman, he walked me to my door and kissed my forehead before heading off. Tomorrow is Monday and I am so not ready for this s**t.
