Irina's POV

This is the day I was waiting for so long now it's finally here. My Convocation. My brother's dream for me is going to be true today. He wanted me to be a gold medalist in International Business and today his dream is going to be my reality. I wish he was here with me to witness all this but I guess it's not in my fate. I smiled sadly.

I was looking in the mirror and doing last minute touch up when my mom called me downstairs.

"Irina come downstairs right now " mom shouted from the hall.

"I'll be there in 5 mins please" I replied applying plum color lipstick.

"No more 5 mins come down right now" mom replied angrily.

"Coming Coming, let me just see if I have draped my saree properly or not I don't want my saree to fall on the stage while receiving my award" I replied coming down from stairs.

Suddenly mum hugged me and said -

"You are looking absolutely stunning in this rose gold saree. I am sure that I am gonna get so many marriage proposals for you today."

I rolled my eyes on her statement "Mum we are going in my convocation, not in a marriage ceremony. I don't know why it is compulsory to wear saree. I want to get myself out of this right now, it's making me clumsy and this blouse why the hell its backless mom?

"Because I wanted my daughter to look out of the world I want everyone to look at you," Mon replied all excited.

" So how are you enjoying seeing my struggle in this. Are you happy now?" I replied in an irritated tone.

" Oh come on you are just overreacting you are looking beautiful just focus on your heels, okay and you are good to go," she said and clapped her hand

" Yeah, I am trying. Anyways where is dad?" I asked.

"Oh, he is waiting in the parking. Let's go."

Upon reaching, dad came out from the car and patted my shoulder and this is my treasure. I can see how happy he was when he hugged me and said -

"I can't believe my baby has grown up so fast. I still remember that day when I held you for the first time, you know you were so tiny, so beautiful that I instantly have fallen in love with you, and today that tiny girl is going to make her dad proud."

 "I smiled and hugged him."

 "Okay, it's not time to get emotional. Let's go to college. You know how traffic is in the city." Dad said opening the car door.

After hearing his words, I was on cloud nine but at the same time I felt pain in my heart remembering my elder brother " I hope Soham bhai is seeing me from above and feeling proud." Mom and dad both were silently looking at me. Tears fell from my eyes.

"Hey princess, don't cry baby you will spoil your make up. " Dad said removing tears from my cheeks"

I chuckled oh his comment and after that, we got settled in the car and then the driver started the engine and I rolled down mirror of my window to inhale fresh air.

So. The life-changing journey is going to start and I Irina Bajaj is embracing my new reality with open arms.
