Emily's Pov
During the birthday celebration, my eyes always meet Benson Doorson's. My emotions are like a stormy sea inside me. I feel an urge to approach him, to smell him, and to thank him for saving me twice. But does he remember me? Does he remember the girl he saved two weeks ago? I try to push away these questions and thoughts by chatting with the guests; I need to stay focused. My heart cannot lose sight of the goal, which is Jimmy Doorson.
I know Jimmy won't simply obey Benson's order without some form of retaliation. I observe that Jimmy is nearby. Our eyes have met only a few times, but when they did, Jimmy's gaze was filled with resentment and anger.
I stay close to the guests, engaging in conversation and greeting others. I talk with Amy for a long time.
