As she went in through the door and saw him standing at the end of the room in front of the mantelpiece she stood still thinking how handsome and magnificent he looked in his evening-clothes.

His arms encircled her, then he was kissing her and his kisses were passionate and demanding as if he had been frustrated in waiting so long until he could give them to her.
