~Julie~ I sat with Elliot in the back of the jeep, wearing nothing but an overly large t-shirt and jacket as we headed back to the Blood pack. I could sense that although Elliot may have been trying to act calm, she was anything but. I was unsure why she always felt like she had to protect me from this type of thing, shouldering the brunt of every burden with a smile on her face like I would not realise the weight it caused her. When we were younger, I brushed it off, thinking it was just part of who she was, but now I knew the look, the stiffness of her back, the way she held her shoulders. Don’t get me wrong, I understood why she was tense. As soon as we got back to Blood pack territory, we were going to have to pick at some old wounds that both of us would rather leave closed. Neithe
