“Oh, yes, it is. It is.” Haris repositioned the laser a millimetre to the left and checked his calculations again. “All you had to do was make sure the girl wasn’t incurring large medical bills, hand her the sandwich, and leave, but you told her she was shaped like an apple.”
“Leah. Her name is Leah, and I told her she wasn’t shaped like an apple.” Lennox reached for a pair of goggles, just in case. “Can’t you reheat your coffee in the microwave like a normal person?”
“This is faster.”
“You spent an hour and a half setting up the apparatus.”
“Yes, but…behold.” Haris hit the power switch, and the coffee vanished in a hiss of steam. “Arrey yaar! That wasn’t meant to happen. The liquid should have boiled instantaneously, not vaporised.”
