I hung up. "Martha, I can explain."
"Go on, I'm listening."

A hard slap landed on my cheek. Her eyes blazed with fury. "How dare you!" Martha said with clenched teeth. She took her phone out of my hand and immediately called him back.
Scott said as soon as he picked up, "You know what, I thought we could get back together, that's why I called. It wasn't even up to three days since we broke up and you're already with me, that shows how clingy, too available, and cheap you are." He hung up.
Martha stared back with those raging eyes. "Are you happy now?" She scoffed. "We're not getting back together. Isn't this what you wanted?"
