Chapter 3

*** Mia’s POV ***

The next few days went by with us unpacking and cleaning. Our furniture got here yesterday as well, so everything was in its place. Mom started to work two days ago and she liked it so far. She had already made a few friends and she seemed happy. As for me, I was happy with the new house but not so much about the school, which will start next week. I would stay at home with pleasure for a few more weeks and enjoy myself at home with a few good books. I was not a nerd, I have just liked to read books since my father died, romance mostly. We always watched movies together, so it was like he was reading with me.

I walked downstairs to find some food since it was lunchtime. Mom was working so I needed to make something for myself.

After eating, I decided to lay down by the pool and enjoy the sun, maybe even swim later, so I went upstairs to change into my golden bikini. I grabbed my book and earphones and walked out to the backyard.

I relaxed and listened to music with my eyes closed. It felt refreshing. After a while, it was too warm under the sun, so I went into the swimming pool to cool my body and to swim.

“Hey you.” I heard his voice but I ignored him. He just couldn’t talk normally, not to me at least. “Hey what’s your name again?” That annoying jerk couldn’t take a hint.

“I don’t remember becoming friends to know each other's names.” I told him simply, still not looking at him.

“You told me that I don’t have manners, I am just trying...” he was smirking “...and don’t worry, I don’t want to be your friend anyway.” He said with a smug smile.

“Thanks for sparing me.” I mocked him, I looked at him briefly and walked out of the pool slowly and s*xily. I watched as he gulped when he saw me in my bikini. I had a nice body with curves in the right places. I wanted to drive him crazy and I wanted to see his reaction as well, the way I had power over him. I was still a virgin but I was together with Josh for almost three years and I liked to tease him sometimes, so I learned how to do it well. Maybe that was the reason he cheated on me, because I asked him to wait for me till the end of high school to have s*x. I was just 16 and I wasn’t ready yet.

I walked towards him slowly, making sure to sway my hips a bit, and I stopped in front of him with my hands on my hips.

“So ...can I help you?” He was sweating and he couldn’t take his eyes off of my body and I just enjoyed the game. “Like what you see?” I asked him softly. He gulped again and his full gaze finally met mine.

“You bet.” He answered honestly, breathing heavily, and when he realised what he said he cleared his throat and corrected himself.

“I mean, I have seen better.” He said shrugging, but he was still looking at me hungrily.

“If you say so” I said with a smirk, and walked inside the house, making sure to give him a show. All the way, I felt his eyes on my a*s. He didn’t even stop me, I guess he forgot what he really wanted to say when he peaked over the fence. Let the game begin.

*** Ryan’s POV ***

What was her name again? I heard her mother call her name the other day, but I couldn’t remember anymore. Something like Milli or Mira, I was sure it started with M. This was so frustrating and I didn’t know why I even cared. Then again, it was better to know everything about your enemies , right? Especially if she was your neighbour.

I just wanted to tease her and find out her name in the meantime, but what happened.....? It had never happened to me before. Like an i***t, I was just standing there and staring at her. The hell with that golden bikini and that perfect body of hers. How can I get my revenge if I get distracted just by looking at her? Note to myself: avoid her when she has no clothes on.

When she walked inside, I just froze. She had a perfect round a*s and I almost threw a backflip when she swayed it in front of me. What was she doing to me? I was sure she did it on purpose and now she knows that she has an effect on me. Who was this girl?

Tyler and Dom will come soon to hang out. I will just watch a movie till they arrive. They lived at the end of the street, so we hang out every day here or by their house. I went upstairs and lay down on my bed. Mom took Roni to the park and dad was at work, so the house was all mine. I peeped out of my window towards the girl’s room and I saw her standing there just in a towel, brushing her nice long hair. Creepy? I know, but she can’t see me and peeping at her will benefit me in the future, so I didn’t care. Everything was allowed in a war, right?

“Ry, what are you peeping at?” Tyler asked and I jumped from the sudden noise of my door when my two best friends barged into my room.

“Didn’t I tell you a hundred times to knock?” I asked them, annoyed.

“You did, so what are you doing?” Dom asked and walked to the window to see what there was to see.

“F**k. You are a lucky bastard with a view like this.” He said in amazement, and I didn’t like it for some reason, she was only for MY eyes to see. Tyler walked there as well to look out of the window and I let out a groan.

“What is it Dom? —Holy s**t... You forgot to mention that she is sexy as hell.” These two....

“Okay guys, it’s enough, she will see you, close the damn curtains.” I dragged them away from the window before she decided to drop the towel.

“Why? You are no fun, Ry.” They whined in unison, it was a twin thing to them and I don’t need to mention how annoying it was.

“Forget about her and let’s do something. Maybe let’s go out to eat somewhere.” I offered and, since they loved to eat, they agreed right away.

“Good , let’s go to eat pizza.” Dom said.

“Fine by me.” We headed out of the house and my thoughts went back to that girl. She was different, she fought for herself against the people who didn’t respect her and I liked that, to be honest, but she made a mistake when she went against ME.

We were sitting in a place called ‘Pizza heaven’. That was our regular pizza place because their pizza was really heavenly. The door opened and the annoying laughter of the girls ruined my appetite. I knew exactly who they were and I groaned. The guys looked in their direction and understood my reaction right away.

“Ugh... why couldn’t they come a half an hour later..” I groaned again and they just nodded in agreement, since their mouths were full of pizza.

“Ryan, you are here.” then I heard her shrieking. God save me.

“As you can see, Bianca,” I said sarcastically. We hooked up a few times, but that was it. She can’t take the hint though and always blows up my phone with messages. I avoided her the whole summer successfully, but once, every good thing came to an end. She was with her two ‘friends’ if we can call them that, more like followers.

“Why so rude? We didn’t see each other the whole summer. I was calling you, but couldn’t reach you. Weren’t you missing me?” She pouted and sat on my lap. I pushed her away immediately and said,

“Bianca, I was busy and, anyway, we aren’t together, so stop calling me. Now, if you will excuse us, we have things to do.” I stood up and the guys did as well.

“You will come back to me Ryan, sooner or later, you always do.” She flirted and I just rolled my eyes and we left the place as fast as possible.

“God, she is annoying as f**k!” I said to the guys when we were walking back to mine.

“That she is.” They said in unison and we laughed.

“Guys, school starts tomorrow.” We all groaned when Dominic mentioned school.

“This is our last year guys, we will survive.” I told them. “Hopefully,” I added.

“Will your new neighbour come to our school?” Dom asked.

“I don’t know, I hope so, because I have some plans for her after the way she talked back to me last time.” I told them and they burst out laughing again.

“What are you going to do?” Tyler asked.

“You will see.” I told them with a smirk and we went inside. We decided to watch a movie before they needed to go home since school starts tomorrow.
