He eased into his Monday, as was his way. He was awake earlier than usual, but hoisted himself out of bed and spent the bonus hour on the back patio with his coffee. It wasn’t every October morning that a guy could chill in his backyard in nothing but some PJ pants and a tank top. Snow couldn’t be more than a couple weeks away, and Mark was one to take advantage of fair weather. He sprinkled a handful of granola right into a plastic tub of yogurt and crunched thoughtfully away as he admired the blazing red leaves on their neighbor’s maple tree.
