Pete woke up early in the morning. The gentle warm sunbeams shone through the partially covered window as Pete slowly opened his eyes. Recently, whenever he woke up, Pete felt a tightness in his chest which always took several minutes before it dissipated. The feeling became stronger with every passing day. Pete was fully aware of the time limit, which had already begun ticking. The time slowly seeped through his finger without him being able to fully grasp it.
Once the tightening sensation dissipated, Pete took a shower and got ready for breakfast. Today he decided to have breakfast in the main buffet of the resort with the guests before he departed from the island and went to visit the town. Since the day he left the hospital, he hasn’t left the island.
