As she stepped out of the limousine, Hailey felt a shiver run down her spine. The sound of yelling and the clicking of cameras instantly made her feel uneasy. The paparazzi surrounded them and the millions of flash blinded her completely. 'behave' Sebastian whispered as he grabbed her hand and started walking through the crowd. When they entered the huge luxurious Manor house Sebastian let go of her hand and spun her round so that she was now facing him.
'Listen' He said coldly. 'I'm now going to meet my friends and I don't want you to embarrass me you got it ? I don't want you next to me at all during the whole party' His word felt like a sharp knife that sliced her heart into pieces.
'But I don't know anyone here' Hailey cried.
To this Sebastian burst out laughing. ' And I don't give a damn sh*t about it'
'Please Sebastian you can't leave me alone' Hailey pleaded.
' Of course I can' He replied and started walking away but Hailey grabbed his arm and started crying. 'Please Seb' She sobbed 'I know no one here'. Sebastian tried to jerk her hand away but she tightened her grip and started sobbing louder and pulled his arm as she pleaded him again 'Please Seb I promise I will not embarrass you'.
'Stop it' He hissed but Hailey continued to cry loudly. Anger built inside him when he noticed some people staring. He pulled her angrily towards the corridor on their left and slammed her violently against the wall. Hailey winced and tears started rolling down her cheeks. Holding her wrist tightly, Sebastian barked 'DON'T YOU DARE COME NEAR ME DURING THE WHOLE PARTY'.
'Y-ye-yes' Hailey stuttered, trembling violently. Sebastian turned and walked away. Still crying, Hailey let her body fall on the cold concrete floor. Leaning against the wall, she wrapped her hands around her legs and duck her head down. Her whole body ache. She felt drain both emotionally and physically. As her pain reached its peak, the memories of her life before her wedding resurfaced. The memories of her recovery. The pain she silently endured. Of course she never expected them to instantly vanish after her marriage, but she did think that maybe her life would be a little more bearable. With a husband by her side to support her. Someone to stand by her side, someone who would be able to make her feel beautiful. Someone who would not judge her only from the outside but who would love her for who she is, someone who would love her soul. 'maybe you expected a bit too much' she thought as she wiped the tears from her damp face.
'This girl is so pathetic' Sebastian thought but his conscience was reprimanding him 'Jerk! ‘He tried to ignore it but the little voice in his head continued to scream 'Jerk, jerk!' .
Ignoring it, he walked to the table where his grandfather was sitting. 'Hello Grandpa' He grinned, taking a seat next to the old man.
'Oh hello young man' The bold, cadaverous man replied with a huge smile. 'So how are you?' , but as Sebastian was about to replied his phone rang .'Excuse me ' He said apologetically as he fished for his phone in his pocket. The old man nodded 'It’s okay dear'.
'Yes?' Sebastian answered.
'Seb I left with mom a while ago in the limo. She was feeling unwell. We're at the hospital. I told Colby to bring your car at the party. Your keys are with him' Lilliana said in a rush.
'What?' Sebastian asked, confused but the line went dead. Sighing, he turned around and started searching for Colby. Fortunately, he quickly spotted the short, chubby man talking with the extravagant Mrs. Williams.
After fetching his keys, He walked back to the corridor, looking for Hailey. When he saw her his heart skipped a beat. Weirdly, despite having a spoiled makeup, and dried tears on her rosy cheeks, her puffed lips, her reddish brown curls that were now only wavy and her dark emerald green eyes that shone because of the tears made her look absolutely attractive. When she noticed him Hailey took a step back. Swallowing hard, Sebastian walked towards her and spoke ' We've got to go'.
For some seconds, Hailey stood there, staring at those midnight blue eyes. Then swallowing the lump in her throat, she finally managed to reply 'okay'. They walked silently towards the emergency door to the car. Hailey winced as she leaned back in the plush seat of the sports car. Hearing her wincing made Sebastian feel remorseful as he remembered how he violently hit her against the wall. He inhaled deeply and opened his mouth to say sorry but nothing came out. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel, making his knuckles turn white. During the whole drive, Hailey stared incredulously at him, hoping he would at least say sorry but Sebastian kept his eyes on the road and did not utter a single word. When they arrived home, Hailey stepped out of the car at once and closed the door violently behind her.
When he came in, Hailey was sitting at the table in the dining room, eating Spaghettis. As he pulled the chair next to her, she got up and walked to the kitchen. She returned some minutes later with some Spaghettis for him. Putting the plate in front of him, she asked 'Why have we left early?'
'Mum is at the hospital, we are going to see her as soon as we finish dining' Hailey stood in front of him for some more minutes hoping he would at least apologise and admit that what he did was wrong but he did not. She was really mad at him now. Sighing, she walked back to where she was seated and resumed eating. 'Look I'm sorry' she heard Sebastian say some minutes later. She lifted her head to look at him, expecting him to really apologise .When he only stared back at her, she walked back to the kitchen.
'What the hell?' Sebastian thought but Hailey came back with a plate. Sebastian stared at her, confused.
She walked towards him and drop the plate in front of him. Looking at the broken plate, she said 'Look I'm sorry' Then looking at Sebastian she asked 'Did it make a difference? Did the 'sorry' make the plate return back to how it was?' With this she turned away from him and walked furiously out of the room , not bothering to get a reply from him.
Sebastian knew that he had hurt her and he wished he could tell her how bad he felt for having hurt her. He had planned to tell her he was really sorry .He planned to tell her he sincerely regretted what he has done and really apologise to her but when he saw those mesmerising emerald eyes staring at him, nothing came out.
Now that the table had turned, he knew he was the one who had to apologise but he did have the same determination as her and would make his best to have her forgiveness. He would make everything he can for her to forgive him.
