NARRATOR'S POV
Milo was doubtful as he paced back and forth in his kitchen thinking about what he needs to do after what Avery has done to Lindy. It made him mad that she easily abused her own sister like that and how it bothers him that Lindy does completely nothing against her sister. He hates that she does not stand on her own feet and stand against her evil twin.
“I’m sorry Lindy but I am doing this for you.” Milo mumbles to himself before he grabs his other phone and called his friend Mikey. “Hey man!”
“What’s up Milo ?”
“Yeah I got a favor.”
“Sure, what is it?”
“Can you text someone for me? It’s really urgent. It’s for a friend.”
UNKNOWN NUMBER: You might not know me but I’m your friendly neighbor giving you some fairly friendly advice that your daughter Avery Swanepoel is out on a party at John’s place with her boyfriend Ted. I think she needs some lecturing.
“Good morning Button!” Lindy greets her adorable pet.
Button barks at her.
Lindy smiles, “Did you sleep well?”
Button barks again at her.
“That’s lovely girl.” She pets Button’s head. “I wont be around all day because I will be in school but don’t worry, my mom will take care of you.”
Lindy just finished preparing herself for school while she brings Button with her downstairs. As she walks along the staircase, she heard voices from the dining area which was obviously her parents and Avery. It was distinct screaming voices and it worried her what could have happened.
“You always disappoint us Avery!!” She heard her dad screamed.
Lindy gasped and hurriedly rushed to the dining room when she realized that Avery was getting scolded. She reached the dining room and found her parents nagging at her twin so early in the morning. What happened?
"We told you never leave the house and yet you still disobeyed us!" Mrs. Swanepoel yelled.
Lindy was surprised.
"What if something bad happened to you last night?” Their father exclaimed angrily. “You were so drunk on a school week to think you're still 17 Avery!"
"Dad I was fine! I can handle myself! Ted was there! He could drive me home!" Avery answered back, screaming with anger.
"Ted? What if Ted wanted to do something to you because you were so drunk? He could've taken advantage of you last night! My God Avery!" Mrs. Swanepoel screamed.
Lindy had no idea what was going on but Avery turned around to face Lindy and she was fuming with anger at her own twin sister. Avery blames Lindy for what happened even though Lindy was innocent. Button was barking as their parents continued nagging at Avery.
"Thanks for telling, twin!" Avery rolled her eyes at Lindy.
"What?” Lindy gapes. “I didn't do any--"
"Shut up!" She cuts Lindy off. "You're always acting so nice to get sympathy from people but it doesn't work on me Lindy!" Avery yelled.
Lindy’s brows creasing, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re pathetic and you’re a liar!” Avery shouted.
"Avery!” Their father called out. “You're grounded young woman."
"What?" Avery faces her dad again. "Dad! No!"
Mr. Swanepoel placed his newspapers down on the table and fixed his glasses. "And why not? After disobeying us? You think we will let this one pass? You're grounded!"
Avery gaped.
"After school, you come home right away. No cheer leading practice." he strictly informed her.
"You can't do that to me! I'm the team captain, I need to watch over my squad. We need to practice every day after school. We have an upcoming competition! Mom! Come on, help me on this! Please!" Avery pleads.
Mrs. Swanepoel took a drink from her coffee and stared back at Avery. She was angry but she feels sad too and she knows she has no choice but to teach Avery a lesson. "I'm sorry honey, but we talked about this with your father. You're ground for two months."
"Two months?! Mom!!" Avery got furious.
Avery faces her father again when he told her, "If cheering was important to you, you should've thought about not sneaking out and getting drunk. You're grounded Avery. I'm sorry."
Avery moved her head back to Lindy and she knows Avery will do anything to her because she's as mad as the devil right now. But Lindy's purely innocent and she knows she didn't do anything that Avery is blaming her. Avery stared at Lindy angrily and stood up beside her.
"Happy now?" Avery spat and walked away while bumping her shoulder to Lindy's
"Avery that wasn't nice!" Mrs. Swanepoel called out to her but Avery left the house.
"I'm fine mom." Lindy said.
"Mill!" She thought.
Lindy tells her mom about Button, to feed her and give her water while she’s away in school. She walks out of the house after having breakfast and saying goodbye to her parents who were still angry at Avery before she decided to take a bus since Avery had left already. She sat down on one seat while pulling out her phone from her bag.
Lindy: I told you not to text my parents! I even begged you not to! How could you?! Now my sister's so furious at me! f*****g thank you!!
After a while, she got off the bus and walked inside her school gates feeling all gloomy for what just happened in the morning in her house. Her thoughts were scattered but all that mattered to her was how to make it up to Avery when she knows she'll make her life even more miserable because of what Mill has done. Lindy knows Avery will never believe anything she’ll say.
Her phone vibrated on her hand.
Mill: Let me explain.
Lindy: How thick faced of you to tell me to let you explain! You have absolutely NO RIGHT to get involved with my life! I'm not gonna talk to you ever again! I hate you! I really hate you!!
Mill: Look, I know I texted your parents but I didn't use your number. Just tell your sister it wasn't you.
Lindy: As if she's still gonna listen to me after what happened! I told you not to get involved but you did! It was not your problem, it was mine! And I wish you could have let me handled my own demons.
Milo : Lindy, you are not handling your own demons because your own demons are handling you. You are allowing them to belittle you because they can.
Lindy: You know what, don't even try to explain. I don't need it! You ruined my morning. You already ruined my day! It was the least thing of you to do, not to get involved with someone else’s life! Thanks a lot!
Lindy walked started walking along the hallways all alone feeling miserable as she headed to her first class. She didn’t want Avery to get mad at her because she knows Avery will definitely get back at her for this. Lindy also knows that Avery will never listen to any word she’ll say so she is worried what might she do to get her revenge. Suddenly, her phone vibrated again.
Mill calling...
She turned off her phone and got inside her classroom with bothered thoughts. She sat down on her chair and was really pissed at Mill and mostly herself. She knows that she mustn't be scared like how Mill told her, she knows she has to face her own demons but she can't help not to feel scared at all. She knows Avery better than anyone else and she knows how capable Avery can do. She knows pretty well that Avery will get back at her for what happened.
"I'm so gonna kill you Mill. I swear to god I will kill you." She softly mutters to herself.
"Sorry the number you have dialed is temporarily not available." Milo groans as soon as he heard it for the nth time.
"Great she turned it off." Milo sighed.
He placed his phone down and stared at the street while he was taking a meal with Josh Devine, their band’s drummer , and Lou together with her cute baby daughter Lux. He hasn't talked to anyone about his misunderstanding with his secret textmate named Lindy and does not know how to ask for advice this time. He knows he's confused for what he has done but then he only did that for her.
"Is your text mate not answering your call?" Lou teased while grinning.
Milo chews his food. "I mean, I didn't do anything wrong but she's mad at me."
Josh chuckles and shakes his head. "Women." Josh commented with a smile.
"Oh you don't know half of it, Josh. Spill it out Milo . Maybe we can help you." Lou smiles dearly.
Milo sighed heavily as he stares back at Lou reluctantly. "So her sister went to this party last night and her sister sort of bullied and scared her before she left the house not to tell their parents she was sneaking out." Milo started.
"Yeah, and?" Lou asked.
"Now, at the party... well... how do you explain this one? Umm... Okay, let's just go straight to the point. I texted her parents about her sister going to the party and now she's mad at me." Milo continued before takes a sip from his tea.
"Did you go to a party last night?" Josh asked.
"No." Milo answers.
Lou twirls her fork around her food. "You're worried that she's mad at you for what you did?"
Milo nods.
"Tell her you're sorry." She continued to say.
"She turned off her phone." Milo responded.
"Say it on TV." Josh commented right away.
"No." Milo groans inwardly. "I can't do that. You know how crazy my fans can go. I care about her. I really care about this woman that's why I did that but she doesn't seem to see it the way I wanted her to."
Lou laughs. "You must already be used to it Mill. Women are always undecided on everything and women always doesn't see the good side of something when they're mad at it."
"Exactly." Josh agrees. "Women!"
“Don’t say it like Josh! It’s not a bad thing being a woman. Try it sometimes.” Lou teases.
Milo chuckles to himself as he stares at Lux beginning to mumble words. Lou tries to wipe her tiny rosy cheeks while Milo makes faces at Lux who is staring back at him with furrowed brows.
"No love. You can't have that. You're allergic to it." Lou tells Lux.
Milo sighs as he stares at his food.
"So what are you gonna do now?" Lou asked.
Milo shakes his head. "I don't f*****g know."
Later that day, in Canada, it was already Lindy's lunch break and she was unexcited to eat her meal because she's still bothered about what Mill did and how her evil twin is mad at her. She sat down on the table with Martha while the other students that were inside the entire cafeteria were all yelling, talking and laughing loudly.
"You okay B?" Martha asked.
Lindy glares at her sister. "I'd be a liar if I'll say yes." She answers, sighing
"What's wrong? Is this about your slutty most evil twin sister again? Tell me what did she do this time?" Martha asked.
Lindy started telling Martha the whole story and also about what Mill did that made all this fuss but Martha was taking his side.
"What he did was correct! Why did you get mad at him?" Martha asked.
"Because he--"
"He texted your parents about Avery. You know, for a stranger like him? He obviously cares about you." Martha chews.
Lindy sighs. "But Avery's freaking mad at me."
"So what if she's mad? Let her be! She's always hard on you and she bullies you all the time! That's what we call karma."
Lindy glances at her watch and then at her phone. She knows she's waiting for Mill but she tries not to think that she is. Martha grabbed it and turned it on. She handed it to Lindy.
"Text that Mill guy." Martha instructed.
"What am I gonna say?" Lindy asked.
"I don't know. What do you wanna tell him?" she asked her back.
"I don't know."
Lindy grabs her phone and Martha continued to eat while she blabbers about Spitfire Strip again since she was the one who is also a huge fan. "By the way, I saw this huge huge poster of Spitfire Strip from a store yesterday and I toooootally fell in love with it. It'll look perfect inside my room. Milo 's such a bae."
"I don't really know why you are such fan of those guys." Lindy answers.
"Because duh they’re the most hot, handsome, talented guys on earth right now and they're hot."
Lindy laughs. "You said hot twice."
"Because they are f*****g hot! I tell you, if I could just spend one day with anyone of them I'll be happy." Martha answers before sipping her juice.
Lindy smiled.
Suddenly her phone vibrated. She opened the text message from Mill right away.
Mill: Happy lunch babe :) I can't help it that you're ignoring me. Text me soon. I'll wait.
Martha stares at the phone too.
"See? He cares about you. Go forgive that guy." Martha encourages with a smile.
Lindy glanced at Martha.
"I could imagine if that guy was only Milo Beckett and he's texting me saying he'll wait for me? I think I'll wet myself." Martha stated.
Lindy gave a soft laugh.
"You are crazy." Lindy commented.
Lindy: Did you go visit Ed?
Milo hurriedly grabbed his phone from the table when he heard it beep. He smiled seeing Lindy's name knowing that she finally responded.
Mill: Yes. A while ago. Still mad at me baby?
Lindy: I am. But then I think I still owe you a thank you. So thanks anyways for telling my parents. Avery needs it for bullying me too much.
Milo smiled at his phone.
Milo : Does that mean you've forgiven me already? We're friends again?
Lindy: I think so. I guess I have no choice, you have my phone. If I keep on hating you, you might not give it back to me.
Mill: I am so relieved right now! How's your sister treating you? Has she done anything?
Lindy smiled.
"He really makes you smile, Lindy." Martha blurted out while staring at her
Lindy moved her head up and stared back at Martha.
"What?" Lindy asked.
"I mean, it's so obvious you enjoy texting with him."
"He's annoying." Lindy scoffs.
"But you like it. C'mon, admit it." Martha grins.
Lindy blushes.
"I do not! He's a stranger. I don't know him. We just text each other to relay each other's messages." Lindy answered.
Martha grinned knowing she can see through Lindy’s lies.
"You suck at lying." Martha commented while chuckling.
Lindy: Well, she left me a while ago. I had to take the bus. But I'm used to it.
Mill: Ignore your sister. She needs time to cool down if she doesn't then ignore her. You don't need people like her in your life.
The bell finally rang and they headed back to their classrooms instantly. Lindy sat down on her chair and placed her phone under her desk while she waits for her teacher to come in.
Lindy: Yeah, she'll talk to me again if she'll ask me to do her projects or homework.
Mill: Try saying no to her.
Lindy: She's persistent and thick faced. She just throws her books at me and leaves my room like a snap.
Mill: That is very rude to think she's your sister! What an asshole. Sorry if I called your sister like that but I have never known anyone like that.
Lindy: She's worst than an asshole. I'm used to all of these though. Let's stop talking about her. What's up?
Lindy's teacher finally walked inside the classroom and started discussing but she didn’t want to end the conversation she has with Mill yet.
Mill: Packing my things. I'm leaving for Barcelona by 7PM. And I gotta hurry.
Lindy: Wow! I've looked at your photos on your gallery by the way and you've been to different countries?
Mill: Yup. Part of my job babe.
Lindy: I wish I could visit other countries like you. I mean, that'll be so cool.
Mill: I'll take you to London someday. I'll give you a tour if you want me to :)
Lindy smiled and quickly glanced at her teacher under her lashes then stared back at his phone.
Lindy: I've got no money. No thanks Mill. But I'm looking forward for the tour.
Mill: Soon! Hey, aren't you suppose to be in class? I'm guessing it's 1PM in Canada by now.
Lindy: It is. But then I'm bored to death in class. Mind if we text before your flight to Barcelona?
Milo smiled.
Mill: Don't worry babe, right when the plane lands Barcelona, you're the one I'll text first :)
Lindy couldn't help but smile and her insides were squirming. For no reason, she realized what Martha said to her a while ago, that Mill really does makes her smile.
Lindy: Yeah right, flirty.
Milo flashed a grin while grabbing his bag and walked out his place. He got inside the van as they drove their way to the airport.
Mill: Ahhhh and you're giving me pet names too. I really really love when you pet name me :) OMW to the airport by the way baby.
Lindy can't help but feel something deep down inside of her when he calls her baby.
Lindy: Good to know Mill.
After a while Milo finally got inside the private jet with the other lads and they settled down on their seats but Milo was as usual busy with his phone and ignored the other lads who were monkeying around the plane and laughing as much as they could.
"Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking we like to welcome you onboard this London Royal Airlines flight to Barcelona. Flight duration is around 2 hours and we are expecting a fairly smooth flight tonight. Once again we thank you for choosing to fly with us today and we hope you enjoy your flight"
Mill: I'll text you back when I land in Barcelona babe. Plane's about to take off.
Lindy: Take care. Have a safe flight.
Milo smiled at his phone as he stares at her name and her message. He knows he looks like an i***t and he knows the lads will tease him.
Mill: Dont worry babe, it's just a two hour flight. I won't be gone long ;)
Lindy: Whateverrrr flirty.
He chuckled deeply.
Mill: baby and flirty rhymes. Could it be that we’re a match made in heaven? Haha! Corny af. Later babe. x
Lindy realized that she's been smiling like an i***t.
