9Let’s Play PretendA woman crouched beside a large boulder. Probably younger than she looked, fear etched lines into her face. They were highlighted by the sweat flowing from her forehead, and the blood dribbling from a small deep wound in her hairline. Lacerations zigzagged over her naked arms, with more across her stomach revealed through the rip in her vest top. Gripped to her side was a young boy. Wide-eyed, he returned her hug like a baby gorilla, clutching his body to hers. He was doing his best to hide his face under her long brown hair, but still the whites of his eyes shone brightly between the blood-soaked strands. To the right of them, a man stood flanked by two stocky vampires. They gripped his arms tight behind his back while another stroked the sharp tip of a feeding dagger
