19Ad NauseamDespite the heat of the night and the log fire, Soren remained frozen. He stretched out across two easy chairs in front of the hearth, his body on one, his legs on the other, staring into the flames and wishing with all his might he was somewhere else. It was three hours after they’d returned, and Kevin and Franky had only just left the bar. The events in Turin had been discussed ad nauseam, until finally, Conn pushed himself up and told the men to go so he could rest and heal. Tomorrow was soon enough for further conversation. It had taken a while for them to be willing to hear his explanations. As soon as Soren tried, he was stonewalled. Twice, Kevin had hit out at him again, especially when he’d tried to explain about needing to save Tazia from the Advocate’s intentions.
