Chapter 11Daniel and his shadow showed up late at the Lazy Eight that night, and Moon Eyes acted sweet as potato pie, but they took another table, not the one where Long Face and me was sitting. I played a game of pool with Daniel, and he said he hadn’t embarrassed himself at the dinner table even if he still looked half dead. I don’t think he had no more than a six-pack the whole night.
