Chapter 5 I sat on the steps of my shattered house when my Stepmom pulled into the driveway. I wanted to run to her as soon as she opened the car door and stepped out, but I did not move, I stayed still. She walked to her trunk and pulled out something that looked ancient and wooden, but I was unsure. She began to walk inside, and I gathered my courage and I rose to my feet and I began to tell her of my failure. As I told my Stepmom, she stood there not saying a word, but when I was done, she was still standing there, same look of sadness and lifelessness as she had before. I asked if she was okay and all she did was walk inside the house and cast a spell on the box then collapsed in the doorway. I ran to her as quickly as I could and placed her head in my lap and told her that she shoul
