Chapter 5 She Should Have Died

706 Words
"Stop." Just when Wendy thought it was impossible to escape, a deep and magnetic male voice suddenly sounded, and everyone present except Wendy was stunned. Felix stood at the door, staring indifferently at the farce in front of him with cold eyes. "Grandpa, it's me." Luther was stunned, and then, his old face was filled with overjoy. "Felix, you're finally awake!" Gemma's hand stopped in the air. She did not know if she should keep her hand up there or put it down. No one would have thought that Mr. Swift who had been in a coma for three years would wake up so suddenly! Wendy looked at Felix who had a cold expression but still felt unsettled in her heart. Just now, he almost took away her innocence. Such a domineering invasion made her unbearable! "Mr. Swift, you guys talk, I'll go out first." Although she was wrongfully accused, Wendy understood that it was impossible for the Swift family to apologize. Furthermore, Felix was looking at her with the kind of eyes that seemed to penetrate her, which made her dare not stay any longer and left with her head down. "Don't think that you will have a good time now that Mr. Swift woke up, you're the culprit and he hates your guts, just wait!" Having just been embarrassed, Gemma walked after Wendy and deliberately bumped into Wendy's shoulder, then left bitterly. Wendy looked at Gemma's back as Gemma left unwillingly. She rubbed the painful spot on her shoulder and smiled bitterly. How could Wendy not know that when Felix woke up, she would not have a good time? In the best case, the two of them would get a divorce, and in the worst case... would Felix send her back to prison? Thinking of this possibility, Wendy's slender body trembled. She must never go back to that place again, never! When Felix woke up, Luther was very emotional. After finally calming down, Luther told Felix everything that happened in the past three years since he was in a coma. "That woman, what's with her?" Felix frowned, he did not have the slightest impression of Wendy in his mind. In the past few years, he had been unconscious but always had a vague feeling that someone had been taking care of him. Could it be this woman? Luther pondered for a moment, and finally told Felix the ins and outs of the matter. After listening, Felix's eyebrows became a little more gloomy. That woman turned out to be the main culprit of the hit-and-run that caused him to be in a coma for three years! Wendy was in the room, anxiously waiting for Felix to come back, she did not know what kind of judgement she would face. She even wanted to scold God, why did God play such a joke to punish her when her life showed signs of getting better? Giving her hope and then letting her down was more painful than never letting her see any hope. The intense anxiety and nervousness made her stomach ache, and Wendy could not help covering her stomach. At this moment, the door was suddenly opened. Felix walked in slowly. Although he had just woken up from the hospital bed, the haggard and exhausted state of a patient could not be seen anywhere on his body. The elegance and grace in his every move were still discernible. However, Wendy could feel a strong hostility in Felix. Felix must have known that she was the culprit, that she had been in prison. Felix did not speak, his sharp eyes swept over Wendy, as if to strip off all her disguise. Who would have thought that such a petite and weak woman, who made a man feel affectionate just by looking at her, was the demon who bumped into him, then hurt him again in order to avoid responsibility? Wendy noticed that gaze. Before today, she had never thought that a gaze could be so terrifying to even make her body tremble uncontrollably. This man was too dangerous. He might even kill her right here on the spot! "Don't you want to say something? Miss Murderer?" In the end, it was Felix's voice that broke the silence.
