THERE WAS PLENTY OF work waiting for them when they got back to the station. More reports from Mary concerning Joey Briggs’s time in Spain, reports about solo British holiday-makers gone missing, reports about people that nobody would seem to have missed, at least until their request had gone out. But they could wind those up now, having identified the corpse as Joey Briggs from several sources. There was even one report from Tim Smales about Nighthawks. Seems he’d had a chat with his uncle, and discovered what a scourge they were. It was mainly because of them that archaeological digs had to have security guards, as the Nighthawks looked out for such sites and wrecked them in their quest for treasure, careless of what priceless but monetarily worthless objects they destroyed in the proces
