WEDNESDAY 15 OCTOBER Steven sat in his first floor office and looked out of the window at the people in the street below with envious eyes. Despite the tireless sun and intense heat, he’d have gladly swapped places. He’d have rather been anywhere than here. Anywhere except home, perhaps. The rest of his staff were leaving him alone. Good. Maybe they’d picked up on the fact he was struggling today. Then again, he had been for a while.
