Rick devoted the next day to getting a working demo of Marty’s website up and running. Using the graphics on Marty’s existing site as a starting off point, he updated them, making them more modern and streamlined, less homemade and more professional-looking. Then he inserted them into a template, played around with the layout and stylesheet a bit until he was happy with the way everything looked, and got to work on a plugin to import products from a spreadsheet. Marty had given him one of the inventory files to use, which helped Rick map the fields properly. He worked fast, but there were a lot of little kinks here and there he had to work out, things he only caught when trying to use the site the way it was meant to be used.
