Noah I’m pacing back and forth in front of my door waiting for Caylee and Ryker. Her parents are about to leave wherever they were; saying they’d be here in fifteen minutes. For it to be bad enough that they drive all the way here says something. I wonder if Monica has done something else. Or worse, one of our phones received more pictures. The minute she knocks, I open the door and pull her into my arms. “Noah did they say anything?” She curls against me. “No but your dad sounded really tense and worried. I had to restrain myself from marching to the restaurant to get to you. Only because Ryker was there.” I say into her hair taking a deep whiff of her shampoo. I raise my head as he taps on the doorframe to announce his arrival. “They didn’t tell me anything except to be on guard.”
