Mia’s POV
Talia, Shay and I are seated in the lounge waiting for the guard to bring the human man and the girl.
After a few minutes they walk in and I feel a sharp pain in my heart as I take in their appearance. They are dirty and bloodied and rake thin.
I stand and walk over to them. “Hello, I am Alpha Mia Black, and who might you be?” I ask with a gentle smile.
“I am Paul Adams, Alpha. Thank you for seeing us. We mean no harm; we just want to share some information with you.” He says bowing his head.
I see the tremor in his free hand, the other hand is holding the little girl’s hand. She has not looked up at me, her eyes cast on the floor. I can sense the fear rolling off both of them and it squeezes my heart.
