Emily got home around 11 to find her roommate Delsie was still up watching her favorite show, Tales of the Elf Kingdom. Emily flopped down on the couch next to her.
“Hey, looking good,” Delsie said. This was refreshing, an actual compliment coming from Delsie.
“You too!” Emily replied, admiring her roommate’s sparkling eye shadow, “Did you go out somewhere?”
“Yeah,” Delsie said, looking a bit sheepish. “I went on a date.”
“Nice!”
“It’s still too early to tell,” Delsie said coyly, “but I think we might have a connection.”
Emily felt fairly comfortable around her roommate again after what seemed like a period of underhanded cattiness. Maybe Delsie just needed to get back out into the dating game.
