‘Zain?’ Ryan’s voice cut through the dark desolate place I was currently sitting in. I tried to ignore him, my back pressed against the wall as I wrapped my arms around my legs. I didn’t have time to reply, I was trying to calm my breathing. ‘Zain, say something.’ He whispered in my mind, trying to get to me. I could feel the pools on my jeans, the wet spots from my tears as I shivered. The cold was starting to get to me.
‘It hurts,’ I whispered, even the voice in my mind sounded breathless, exasperated. ‘I don’t want to be hurt like this anymore. It was so close, I was so close. I almost kissed him...I could have killed him. Too much, it’s too much. I don’t want to feel like this anymore.’ I whimpered.
