A Night with the Vampire King

Chapter 6

KIRA stared at his eyes. She couldn’t help but shudder because of the way he looks at her. His blue eyes are blazing. His stares sent shivers to her spine. She swallowed, she can't take this.

"S-Sir? A-Ah... Do you need s-something?” she asked with her voice almost trembling. She tried not to sound nervous while asking him but she couldn’t. She ends up stuttering.

Raven approached her while staring directly at her, causing her to retreat. But she also stopped immediately when she felt something cold in her arms, the elevator’s handrail, leaving her no options but to stay rooted in her place. She tried to break her gaze from him, but she couldn't. She was mesmerized by his eyes, it was so beautiful.

"You..." he said. She swallowed. She almost groaned when heard his voice again. Of course, that familiar voice again that seemed not easy to forget. No matter how hard she tried to convince herself that this was not the man she was with last night, she couldn't. It’s his voice. It is one of the reasons why she seems to be hypnotized aside from the way he looks at her. It is as if he is taking her to a different dimension whenever she hears his deep voice.

"Sir Raven..." Kira said almost whispering. She couldn't breathe properly anymore. She could feel him breathing on her right ear. When their bodies approach each other, she inhaled deeply. Her body is beginning to respond to itself. Her knees started to wobble, her muscles trembling for no reason, the heat she felt started to rise. She held onto the handrail that was attached to the elevator wall tightly. The tension she feels inside is even more intense. Oh gosh.

They're so close to each other, and if anyone will see them right now, they would probably think that they are doing something fishy. She closed her eyes; she liked what she feels right now. The heat, the butterflies in her stomach, and his scent ... his scent is so, manly.

He gasped as he placed his hands on Kira’s hips.  He suddenly felt an electric shock all over his body. Thus, in return, she was bound to hold on to his arms. As they got closer, she overheard his curse. She inhaled inwardly.

"Damn..." he said and stared at her again. He pinned her with his body, and she gulped as she felt something hard rubbed her thighs. Oh, gods! She closed her eyes and sighed. It seems that she can't handle this feeling anymore. She was gradually losing her sanity. Her mind started to crumble on its own. She no longer knew what was right and what was wrong.

It feels so wrong but seems so right. She could hardly sleep last night because her body was looking for that feeling again. Her body wanted to feel it again and again and again. God only knows how much she stopped herself wanting for more.

"I've been searching for you ever since," he whispered to her. Kira's brow furrowed slightly. Did he go looking for her? Why? What does he need from her?

She was going to ask him about what he meant but then they heard the elevator door open. Their bodies automatically moved away from each other. He stands inches away from her, just the right space so no one would wonder why they are together.

The anxiety that Kira felt didn't wear down. She gulped. Someone almost saw them for goodness sake! What would they say if they did? She wanted to see his reaction but she stopped herself. As much as possible, she needs to avoid a scandal.

The riders entered one by one. She deliberately pushed herself on the back. The women seemed to be shocked as they recognized the person she was with.  Some women greeted him and they even blushed; some even flirted with him. She can’t help but gave a sullen glance at those girls.

"Good afternoon Sir Raven," said the other attendees. Because he did not respond, she felt that he was not happy that many people were around them. It was only then that Kira noticed that the others were keeping their distance from the boss. They seem to be nervous to get close to him. She sighed. Maybe the reason behind it was because Raven is just inches away from her.

Well, even her, would distance herself from Raven. She could feel the cry of his aura, he’s supremacy. Even though she wanted to make a avoid him, she couldn't. It seems like she was wearing heavy shoes and was unable to move her feet.

The elevator was starting to move. In each floor, may were entering and exiting. When they got to the floor where she was working, she was unable to get out. She doesn't know why but it seems that someone is telling her not to leave. But when she was able to flex her legs, she felt a grip on her arm.

She stopped because she could feel the electricity flowing through her body. She quickly glanced at Raven who is now staring at her with his chin and his hand was on her arm. She swallowed.

Why is he holding my hand?

Kira noticed that her other officemates were watching her and Raven. So instead of going out, she stayed where she was. She tried to remove his grip on her arm because she got conscious that the women are looking at her. Thankfully, he did release her hand.

He stood there and distanced himself from Kira. This is what she hates the most - getting the attention of others.

When they reached the new floor, someone came out and entered. And she knew one of the riders.

"Kirs!" he said while smiling. It seems like he didn't notice the tension on the inside so Kira smiled back at him. Kira decided to approach the newcomer and move closer to him. Suddenly, she heard someone cough and they all looked at the person responsible.

"Good afternoon Sir Raven," Troy greeted their boss. He didn't respond, but instead, she looked at the two of them, especially Kira. She immediately turned away her gaze because of the way he looked at her.

"What are you doing here? You’re from the Accounting Department, right?" Troy asked him. The elevator was starting to move again. Troy is one of Kira's friends and he was Ally’s boyfriend.  He is the one who updates her cousin whenever she’s in trouble at the office.

Kira didn't know what to say to Troy. She was reluctant to tell him that her boss didn’t want her to leave. She was pretty sure that he would wonder and start asking questions and he will probably tell Ally. She wants to avoid gossip.

"N-Nothing. I enjoy joyride," she answered Troy. She knows that he will not believe her. She’s not good at making excuses.

"I'll tell Gab. She will surely scold you when you get home,” he threatens her. She took a deep breath. See, he's Ally's spy. He prefers calling Ally as Gab because it's the short term for her second name Gabriel. They both work in this company. He is a Mechanical Engineer. She and Troy became friends when she started to work here. She likes him because he’s funny.

"f**k off Troy, you bully me out of fear," Kira glared at him. She crossed her arms. She needs to get out of there. She could feel the heavy tension forming inside and she didn't want that.

She couldn't help but glance at his boss’ direction. He was slamming both of his hands into his slacks’ pocket. He looks kind of irritated. Kira's eyes drifted to Troy, who was now smiling broadly, and she didn't like the way he smiled.

"So that's why," He sounds delighted as if he knows something interesting. He nodded like he is starting to understand some things. She felt her face going red, she knew the things that were going through Troy's mind, and she didn't like it!

"It’s not what you think," she said. She tried to pinch Troy’s side but he caught her just on time. Troy held his two hands together so that she won’t get off.  

"Alright! That's okay Kirs. I'm not going to tell Gab. It's our secret," he continued to taunt her.

She cursed silently. He was right. Troy thinks that she likes her boss. The fudge? Is he crazy?

“Troy, its—“

"Yeah, yeah. I love you." He told her while laughing, stopping her before she even finished her sentence. She just rolled her eyes. Knowing Troy, he wouldn't listen. When he believes in something, that's it.

There is no malice when he said 'I love you'. He’s just being sweet.  But if he tries to say ‘I love you’ to others, she herself would definitely kill him. When he’s with Ally, he is super clingy and sweet, but Ally, on the other hand, shows her affection by tormenting him.

The elevator went up again and all Kira could do was to stand there and wait. But her eyes met Troy's, who is smiling widely. She wants to hit him or beat him because of annoyance but her boss is there and she doesn’t want any more scandal. She could get fired.

Only the three of them were left when the elevator reached the top floor - where their boss's office was. Raven's office occupies the entire floor together with his personal secretary who had an office of his own. But as far as she knew, it was now vacant, because his former secretary was dismissed yesterday.

Somehow, Kira felt at ease. At last,  Raven is leaving, he'll be back to work and she can go back to her work as well. Though, she just didn't know where Troy was going. She just noticed that he was carrying a folder in his right hand.

She stopped thinking when the elevator opened. She was observing the atmosphere and she was almost breathless as  Raven walked out. But...but he didn't come out immediately, he turned to both of them. First, he looked at Troy with a threatening gaze. After that, he turned to her direction.

Kira bit her lip. She seemed to lose her strength gradually. She couldn't read what was on his mind - his blue eyes just stared at her.

But she did not expect what  Raven would do next.  Before the elevator door closed, he was able to pull Kira out. Her eyes wide in shocked because of it.

Kira stared at  Raven while continuously blinking. They are currently standing right in front of the public elevator. He stood there and just stared at her. She could sense that he was furious as if he was preventing himself from harming her. She just stood quietly in front of his boss not knowing how to react.

"I do not like it,” he said. His voice is different. She couldn't figure out what it was. Suddenly, she wondered what he meant. What does he mean?

"Who is he?" he continued asking.

"Who?" Kira wondered. He was frowning and his eyebrows met. His face looks like he was holding back his emotions. He closed his eyes calmly and let out a deep sigh.

"Nothing ... it's just that ... f**k! Never mind," He turned away after saying that. She thought she would be able to leave him now but she just found herself following him. There, she noticed that he was holding her arm and they were going in a ... room.

When they came in, Kira couldn't help examine the inside of the room. She couldn't help but marvel, this was no ordinary office, it was like ... a luxurious living room in a mansion.

The ceiling is medium to high, with expensive paintings on the wall, fancy curtains are hanging, and she couldn’t detail everything that she sees because she was amazed by it. The room symbolizes opulence. Why is she in this room anyway?

Kira's gaze was focused at Raven who was now sitting comfortably on a loveseat sofa with his necktie fastened loosely. His eyes were closed as if he was resting due to fatigue. She couldn't help but stare at him.

Why is he so handsome?

Raven seemed to feel that she was staring right at him, so when they gazed at it each other, she was the first to look away. She bit her lower lip and felt her cheeks turn red out of shame.

"Come here..."

She heard Raven's request so she looked back at his direction. What did he just say?

"What?"

He sighed and sat properly on the sofa. He moved slightly into the corner of the loveseat sofa, and then he tapped the empty space next to him.

"Come here. Sit with me."

Her jaw almost dropped when she heard his request. What?

"Excuse me. I beg your pardon?"

"Sit here with me. Or should I repeat it four more times?" he said.

Kira swallowed as her brain fully absorbed what Raven had said. He wanted her to sit beside him. But, why? What will he do?

Kira felt her heart beating faster than ever. Until now, she couldn't imagine what was running through his boss's mind. Why did he bring her to his office? What does he need? Is he going to fire her? But, why? She doesn't even have bad records, so far? She was a bit late occasionally but she tries to catch up with her work.

Or… they would talk about what happened the other day?

She stopped thinking when someone suddenly pulled her. Her eyes widened when she saw Raven pulling her into the loveseat he had occupied. She suddenly panicked.

"S-sir! J-Just wait!" she tried to break away from his grip but it was too late. They were both sitting on the loveseat sofa. They are now facing each other, and here she is again, drowning from looks.

She didn't know how long the two of them have been staring at each other until she decided to turn her gaze away. She closed her eyes ardently. It is obvious that she’s attracted to him.

Who doesn’t? He’s tall and handsome; his features scream supremacy and his eyes. Oh, gods! She admired it more every minute.

But Kira was almost startled by what he had done; all of a sudden he lay down and used her thighs as his pillow. Her eyes widened in shock while looking directly at him but his eyes were closed.

"Sir Raven... u-uhm, are you okay?" asked Kira while her forehead creased. Her boss opened his eyes and met her gaze. She gulped as her boss stared at her for a few minutes and then closed he closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh.

"Just...just stay where you are," he said almost whispering to Kira. She bit her lips because of that.

"But…but I still have work to do,” she insisted. She now wants to get out of this place. But she didn’t know how long she would stay there. She didn’t know what she feels right now. It was like she was going to explode in any minute. In addition to that, her heart rate even increased.

"Can you calm down?" he told Kira. She glanced at the man; she noted the wrinkle forming in his forehead. "Your heart is beating fast, are you nervous?" he asked again.

Kira's heartbeat accelerated faster. Her eyes widen in sudden surprise. How did he know? She was about to ask him but he suddenly rose from his position. Then he stared at her. She heard him curse again.

Fvck.

Her forehead creased. His boss held him on both shoulders then he stared at her.

“I have a favor…” he said.

She wanted to say no because she didn't know what was the favor all about. Is she safe here or not? But Kira’s reflex acted upon itself and she ended up nodding to his question.

Damn his eyes. Who can say no to him?

"What is it?" she asked with a stutter. She let out a deep breath. Actually, she's nervous.

Raven stared at her, then glanced at her...her neck? Kira didn't know if she was seeing the right, he was examining her face and neck! Her heart rate is doubling because of that. What does he want?

She also noticed his skepticism. Then she was again shocked at what he had done.

"Si—“ she couldn't finish what she was saying when she felt a smooth piece touching her lips. Her eyes widened as she stared into his boss who was closing his eyes while approaching her more closely. What… What... Why is he kissing her?

She tried to break away and distance herself from the man while she was still in her senses, but she couldn't. She was slowly drowning in his kiss. She moaned as his tongue went into her mouth. He sips her tongue then lays her down on the loveseat sofa. She was completely drowned because of it.

He wrapped his arms around her, then lifted them and pinned them above Kira's head. He pinned her using his thigh and deepened the kiss. Kira moaned even harder because of that.

Heat began to spill over her body - her body weakening and her mind spinning. The man kissed her from his neck down to his chest. Kira whimpered as she felt something sharp was passing through her neck. Instead of feeling pain, she seems to be tickled.

Kira is no longer in the right frame of mind. She had already been tempted. She didn't even think about the surroundings. All she has in her mind right now is how she feels... good. She squirmed and moaned as she felt his lips on her chest. Goodness, she didn't even know how he managed to open the polo that she was wearing.

Kira heard something not far off. She couldn't determine what it was. But she quickly lost her mind as his boss's soft lips returned to her lips. She moaned again.

"What's the meaning of this?!" asked the thundering voice who entered the office.

Kira opened her eyes in shock and she violently broke off from his boss’s grip. She pushed his boss away from her and quickly crossed her arms on her chest that is now exposed. She was scared and nervous looking at her boss who was now worried about her.

"Are you okay?" he asked in a concerned voice.

Okay? Who’s gonna be okay with what happened? No! She wants to tell him about her thoughts but she was left speechless at that time.

"Who’s. That. Girl. Raven?" asked a woman behind Kira. She knew it was a woman based on the tone of her voice. She would like to face her and apologize for what she saw, but she is afraid of what will happen when she does.

Kira could feel her heart beating faster because of anxiety. Her palms were all sweaty and she was shaking because she felt ashamed. She felt like she was going to cry any minute from now. Oh, gods, what has she done?

His boss did not answer the woman's question; she was surprised at what her boss did. He embraced her tightly. She was also surprised when he started to pat her back. She blinked a few times, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Shh... No one will harm you, as long as I’m here" his boss whispered to her. It was wrong to hear but she felt somehow safe. But it was cut short when the girl behind her started to speak again.

"Raven! Answer me!" she furiously asked Raven - her boss. He cleared his throat and began to speak.

"She is your future Queen, respect," he said in a language she couldn’t understand.

Her jaw almost dropped when he heard him.
