WHEN DID IT STARTED.

MADE A NEW FRIEND.

I walk out of his house, and headed to where my car has been parked, I start the car engine, but it refuses to start, I continue repeating it, hoping it would start, but it just won't.

I decided that taking a cab, will be the best option, so I stand by the side of the road, looking for a cab, but I couldn't see any, the road was dry and no car was passing, the few people you could see, where some painter's along the road. But finally, I saw a bike.

"Hey beautiful," the bike ridder said, and I couldn't help but put a simile on my face.

" So where are you heading to, " he asked. I try to picture the person through the hairnet he was wearing, but I couldn't get a picture of him.

" Thank you, mister, but I think I can manage " was all I could say. Even though my spirit didn't disagree with the person, I just don't want to put myself in trouble, for all I know he could rape, he is a guy, so what is the possibility that he won't. The guy wasn't ready to remove his hairnet anytime soon, maybe because he is going to kidnap me. He might even be a serial killer. I suddenly got lost in my thought, on how I am going to escape from this guy when his next word makes me snap back to reality.

" No need to be scared," the guy said. " Just hup in, and not to worry, I have a girlfriend, Because I can read it in your face, you think I will flirt with you, but I won't, like I said I have a girlfriend and I am committed to my relationship ", he said smiling. I didn't want to believe him, but what can I do, my spirit already agreed with him, so I have no other option.

" Thanks for the offer, " I said, as I quickly hup in. He gave me a black hairnet and I put it on before he started driving.

I hold on tight to him, not because I wish to, because I will never wish of that, but because he was driving speed, the way he was driving made me feel like my bones are going to crake out anytime soon.

When I could no longer take it, I pierce his stomach several times before he finally felt it. He eventually slows down, which I was grateful for because it seemed like he understands the reason behind my action.

I told him my direction, and he stops me at the front of my black, ugly gate. Yeah, my gate is quite ugly, but I am still grateful that I got something to cover my compound, the gate is more than fifteen years now, so I would say the gate has finally worked its money.

I got down from the bike, and so did he. He removed his hairnet from his head and I couldn't help but admire his long hair, he opened a hole on both of his ears, where he placed a silver earring. He was fair in complexion, tall and handsome, he wore a black leather jacket, his hair, appearance, and everything look like that of one of my favorite Indian singers.

What is the name of your shampoo I asked because, during the ride, I was welcomed with a lovely scent but did not know what was that, until I saw his hair?

" Hahaha " he laughs out loud, " Okay let me just be formal," he said. Hi, I am Henry, and I am from New York and am about to get married, to the most beautiful creature that God has created " he said smiling.

' Is he playing with me right now, what does he mean that he is about to get married to the most beautiful lady ' pfft ' showoff ', but it is still nice that he is proud of his girlfriend.

I raised an eyebrow at him, and he cleared his throat, " hmm... I didn't mean that you aren't beautiful, I only meant that my wife-to-be is more than beautiful, but just to be clear you are beautiful ". He used his hand to hit me on my shoulder, and we both laugh.

" Alright since you have introduced yourself, it's my turn, Hi is Anna, I am from..... it's is obvious I am from this country, and I don't know what else to say, ohh.... and I work with my boss in his house, that place you saw me ". I immediately look down not wanting to make eye contact, when I finally started my last word. " I work at my boss's house Because I got fired on the first day of working in his office.

To my surprise, he started laughing. His laugh wasn't a mockery laugh, but also not a pleasant laugh, when he saw my serious face, he stopped.

" Wait you ain't kidding," he asked looking surprised. " yeah I ain't kidding, or is it that funny to you? ".

" Ohh I am so sorry," he said, with an apologizing tone. " Anna, I didn't mean to laugh, but I thought you were trying to make a joke, I didn't know that it wasn't a joke ".

' Wow, so my life has finally turned out to become a joke ' I ask myself. I didn't have time for any more drama so I just gave him a short reply.

" Yeah, I get it " was all I could say, as I started walking to my gate, in other for me to get the hell out of this guy presence, I was embarrassed, because he took it funny, but I didn't blame him, I blame myself for telling him, why on earth did I have to say that out, I scolded myself. As I opened my gate I felt his hand on my hands, I perceive that shampoo, which I haven't still know the name.

I turned around to see Henry, he was looking at me with intense care written all over his face.

" Hey what do you want, " I asked.

" I want to make up for it, I don't want to give you a bad impression of myself, on the first day that we just met. Why don't we have dinner at that restaurant close by, what did you say ". I look up and saw his dimple, there is no need for me to get too mad at him so I stated clearly, telling him that, I wouldn't reject it. " Henry I won't reject it if you will pay the bills," I said.

" Yeah, I will, so it is a deal then ". he said before giving me another pleasant smile.

Henry walked back to his bike, and I quickly called out for him. " Henry can I bring my friend there, I was planning to spend the evening with her, but I will also like her to come, if only you don't mind ".

" Anna, you can, I don't mind at all " he replied with a pleasant voice.

" Thank you, Henry," I said, and anyway " you haven't mentioned the name of your shampoo to me ".

" Anna, I will tell you during dinner, I will be there by six, I hope you are gonna come on time," he said putting on his black hairnet.

" Yeah, sure I will see you at six then ".

I smiled showing my complete teeth, as I walked inside my house.

' Guess making a new friend isn't bad ' I said to myself and chuckled.
