The difference between evil and cruel is that evil can be an emotion, a drive. Cruelty is a doing, something that had been done and it's used to describe. Evil and cruel are so much the same, but so very much different.
Evil is telling a baby santa doesn't exist. Evil is constantly telling someone they're the ugliest creature living on Earth. Evil is turning something that makes someone so happy, to something that makes them feel so sad about.
Being cruel, is slapping a kid. Being cruel is killing a father right in front of their son. Being cruel is taking a person's fear and shoving it right in their face while just laughing about.
There is cruel, and there is evil.
