The doctor said Ariel was under too much stress and it made her wound feel unbearably painful and bleesing — it made her faint.
After surgery, stress, anxiety and depression can make pain even worse — and pain is certainly another stressor that can slow the healing process. The immune system plays a central role in wound healing, and stress can alter the immune system's ability to heal wounds. Especially if she has an infection, she can get sepsis as an after effect of surgery which is worse because it can cause death.
