Blake had just left the Simon’s mansion after his brother’s funeral and was headed to the mental asylum in which his sister-in-law Tiana was locked up in. He did not want to, but he had to honour his brother’s last wish, which was to take care of his widow Tiana, he did not understand why his brother would ask him to do such a complicated task. Actually he didn't understand why his brother asked him not to bring Tiana to his funeral,it's like he knew that he was going to die .. He also asked Blake to personally take care of Tiana which was also weird I mean if he wanted to ensure that after his death Tiana was cared for, he should have asked her family and not him .Tiana has a sister who would take much better care of her than Blake.
He was the CEO of a multinational company and he did not have the time to play nurse with a mental patient, but here he was on his way to get her despite him not wanting to go.
He arrived at the mental hospital and saw a young man who was the receptionist and asked for a Mrs Tiana Simon and they gave him directions to the music room which apparently is her most favourite place. As he was getting closer to the said music room, he heard a beautiful yet sad melody (it was of a piano), the person playing the piano was clearly well trained because the notes were in perfect sync with each other. The melody reminded him of a girl he had a crush on in high school but never got the courage to tell since she was intimidating and very reserved.
He brushed off his thoughts and opened the door to the music room, when he got in he started scanning the room looking for her, they were only a few people in that room, some were busy teaching each other and they were in a small group but she wasn't there. He found her in a small corner playing the piano, she was all alone and the corner she was in was slightly dark and it look cold.
From where he was standing although it was a little dark he could see every small detail of her face, like how her eyes were shut as her fingers were sliding through the key notes, he noticed the way her face was glowing, and he did not see this glow in the other mental patient’s faces it was like she was a visitor. He noticed how her mouth formed into a small frown every time she pressed a note she looked like she was in pain and each note was hurting her but she also looked like she was enjoying the pain,as if she was embracing it. Her scrubs seemed to fit her perfectly and she looked more mature, alluring, and beautiful.
She was different from the Tiana he met during family dinners, family events or board meetings, she now had this aura around her that screamed power and it also screamed darkness.
He remembered when he met her for the very first time it was during music class and she was the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. when their parents arranged a marriage alliance between Tiana and Adrian he got jealous that her marriage was arranged to his older brother Adrian and not him.
She is the youngest daughter of the Hamilton family and their heiress since they only had two daughters (the two Hamilton girls were Tiana and her older sister Tatiana). Actually Blake and Tiana were very much alike, they were the creams of the family , although they were the youngest their were named as the heirs of their parents's legacies. Tiana was sophisticated, kind, elegant, neat and her light brown eyes and golden skin made her look innocent and pure whereas in Tatiana lived a fast and reckless life, but the two sisters were extremely beautiful.
Tiana’s marriage to Adrian was a business alliance that was meant to boost Adrian’s career and increase profits and power for both families. And the marriage did help because Tiana was a beast in business and she and Adrian started making history in the business world and business headlines, but a few months later Tiana had a mental break down which is how she landed in a mental asylum.
He started walking towards her in small strides and with every step he took it caused his heart to beat faster than normal, he even stopped while on the way so he could try to calm himself, but it did not seem to work. He was nervous, anxious, curious and he also felt slightly guilty because in the two years and a few months she was locked up in here he never came to visit her. Yes, they were not friends, but she was married to his brother which made her family, he should have visited her once or twice rather than abandon her to the wolfs.
As for the nervous part it scared him to death because he was a person who never got nervous, he could handle all kinds of pressure I mean the man runs a big company and has big projects to his name but none of them have made him this nervous. If only his business associates and employees could see him now. He kept telling himself that she was just his sister-in-law who happens to be crazy and maybe that is why he was so nervous; I mean he has never encountered or interacted with a mental patient before.
He was in a dilemma but no matter what he had to approach her, he was going to live with this woman under the same roof and that will not work if he is afraid of her. He needs to act like a man and shut down all those nervous feelings that is the only way he can survive. When he was sure that he was not going to faint, he started walking towards her again.
