chapter 6: the first target

When Tiana heard Rose’s idea of throwing her a party, she knew that the party would be a perfect place to choose her first target. Obviously, Rose was going to invite the rich and famous of the City and among those there are bound to be at least two or three people who participated in her downfall, they worked together with Rose to take her down which meant that would want to be there to see her in person... . she had to admit that she had powerful enemies, they must hate her so much to do what they did to her, she has spent countless nights thinking of where she might have wronged them to deserve such hatred from them but nothing, they all hated her for unknown reasons because she never wronged them in any way... How can someone want to destroy the life of a person who never wronged them in anyway, she really did try, went through every conversation in her head , every time she looked for a reason to explain their hatred but she could never find it.... But she couldn't ask them either because if they knew that she knew who would save her from death?? she wasn't actually afraid of dying cause deep down she was already dead but she needs to avenge her injustice before she leaves this world for good... She had vowed that not even death would deprive her of this chance to make them pay... Had Adrian not developed a conscious and told her the entire truth and all the people Involved she would have never guessed, even now a part of her was hoping that Adrian was lying but it didn't seem like it at all... They all think that they killed Adrian before he told her the truth but she knew because he told her way before he told them that he wanted to confess, he said he knew how dangerous they are and that they would try to kill him before he does that... Obviously they tried and succeeded because he is as dead as Tiana's first pet...

She had planned to get her first target at the party but deep down she wanted the Doctor who killed her unborn baby to be there so that she can be the first target, the party was a perfect way to get all the information from people without arousing any suspicion. She was going to create such a web that everyone who wronged her would be trapped without even realising.

All she had to do was get a dress and start with the planning, she found it funny that Rose has not changed yet, she never visited Tiana once when she was still locked up and even after her release. A real friend would have visited her personally to make sure she is okay before even suggesting a party but not Rose, she would rather use Tiana to make herself look like a good friend instead of actually being one. Why couldn’t Tiana see Rose for who she truly is, ever since they met, she has been using her to get more popular and to create a status for herself in society. Now she understood why Tatiana never seemed to like Rose, she always said that Rose was a fake friend, she was pretentious and jealous but Tiana just thought that her sister was the jealous one.. Ever since they were born it has always been just the two of them and when Tiana became friends with Rose it was now the three of them, Tatiana is selfish and doesn't like sharing her sister's love...

It is no secret that Tiana’s family is well respected, much richer and they hold a far better status in society and this made her the perfect victim for a social climber like Rose. Their family comes from an ancient bloodline of nobles but also, they have earned and proven themselves in society all the time. Tiana had hoped that since Rose was now married to Andrew then she would stop pretending to care for her, but it does not seem that way.

This party was nothing, but a trap set to ruin her reputation and to make her a laughingstock, I mean why else would she throw a party for a mental patient?? It’s like she wants Tiana to create a scene or have a mental break down in front of everyone they know, it does not matter to Tiana if the party was a trap because she will go there with her head held high and she will get back everything they took from her. They took her company, honour, pride, and her soul and although she cannot get back her soul, she will get the other things they stole from her but first she needs a beautiful night Gown.

All day Blake has had the same question on his mind, why did Tiana agree to have a party thrown on her behalf because she just got out and she should not be seen in public or be in a crowded place. He even regretted calling her to ask for her opinion, he is the guardian, and he should make decisions for her, but he let his stupid feelings get in the way. He had thought about it a lot and decided that this party will not happen, he will not let her go to a party and risk her having a mental breakdown. Ever since she started living with him everything has been good and he wants things to stay that way Afterall she is his responsibility. If she has a mental breakdown he wouldn't know how to handle her or calm her down, it's best she stayed at home until she is a little better..

The moment he entered the suite he found her reading a book on the couch and she actually looked sane and one would think that she was sensible, the moment she heard the elevator sound she looked up and a small smile graced her face and that was the second smile he has seen from her and this time it was meant for him and not Maria. She stood up and took his suitcase and helped him take off his jacket, he watched every movement of hers with curiosity and admiration. “I want you to be my escort to the party that Rose is hosting” she said looking straight at him and for a minute his heart stopped. he might be a grown man, but his heart still beats for her the same way it did when he was still a teenager, he spent years and months building up a wall and a simple glance from her breaks down those walls. He did not want to admit it, but his heart wanted her and this time it was more than ever, back then he just had a silly teenage crush but now it has developed into something more.

When he came here, he wanted to tell her that the party is going to be cancelled but how is he going to do that now??? She wants him to be her escort and she is obviously happy about all that and he couldn't take that away from her but most importantly she wanted him to escort her, to hold her hand and dance with her in the party, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity he cannot miss. Just this one night he can actually pretend that he got the girl, to have her in his hands and share a dance he never got to share at their prom.

“of course, I would love to be your escort” he said it in the most monotone voice he could master to hide the excitement in his voice, “I will have my personal shopper bring some gowns for you to choose from, now is dinner ready” he said gently. “yes, Maria cooked before she left, I will dish up for us… I was waiting for you to come back so we could have dinner together”, he watched as she moved around the kitchen warming up their food and he was amazed by how he never seems to get tired of watching her. everything about her intrigues him moreover now because she has this mysterious aura around her, she gave him her food and sat next to him, he could feel the heat her body is generating, the smell of her body fragrance and he realised that he is in love with Tiana.

How could he?? He just buried his brother a week ago and now he has feelings for his brother’s wife, he has feelings for his sister-in-law, but his feelings aren’t new, they have always been there in the far dark corner of his heart and although he tried to eliminate there, but they are just always there as if waiting for Tiana. After dinner all he could think of was what to do next, he had to keep a safe distance between them, but he had already agreed to escort her to the party. Okay then, he is going to escort her and then after the party he will keep a safe distance, yes that could work because he does not want to do that again, to love her from a distance. He had to get over her feelings for her one way or the other even if it destroys him, the thought of killing these feelings tormented him to no end but it had to be done...
