Damien's POV
I couldn't wait to get back to the pack and Aurora.
I'd dreamt of her all the nights that I spent at the east gate trying to bring peace to them and now, I was going to see her face and hug the kids.
Maybe she'll let me hug her.
As soon as we reached the gate, I paused as I sensed something totally different yet familiar about the air.
"Roll the windows down," I told the soldier who was driving as I put my head out to sniff the hair.
I sat back with a frown on my face. There was definitely something wrong.
The soldiers welcomed me well, but the actual people I wanted to see weren't around.
