Happy Birthday

~Asher's POV~

Everyone bowed to me right after I stepped out of the car. Their happy faces with sparkling eyes made me smile and after seeing their smiling faces and feeling the energy of a pack after months, I realised how much I missed pack life.

Archer was right, I should visit my pack at least once a month.

As I stepped into the Red River pack house, my little powerhouse of energy came running to me and jumped into my arms.

"Happy birthday princess," I said kissing the top of her head.

"Thank you, uncle! I thought you would be late," She said taking my face between her small palms.

Her cheeky smile and the warmth of her hands were so amazing that I started wondering about the phase which will one day come into my life too. The feeling will be the same when my kids will be showing their love to me.

"How can I be late for your special day? You know your uncle loves you more than anyone."

"Ohh..."

I heard a voice and saw Aaron standing behind me with pouty lips. He angrily shook his hands in front of me and tried to leave but I caught him and picked him up too.

"Hey, don't be mad at Uncle. I love you both."

"Really brother? Now you are changing your statement."

Ann said hugging me from the side and kissing my cheek. She took Adelina from me and moved her head between Adelina and Aaron, "My kids have a lot of expectations with their uncle, don't break their heart."

"I wasn't even trying."

I laughed placing my beard cheek on Aaron's soft baby skin and squeezing him in my arms making him giggle and wriggle.

"My gift!" Adelina said clapping her hands.

"Let us first cut the cake princess."

Alec said taking her in his arms and we both nodded to each other.

I reached the living room and smiled seeing the decoration, unlike other girls, Adelina is not a fan of the pink colour. Just like her room, she chose lilac coloured decorations and a unicorn theme for her party. Looking at the decorations, I can say I chose the best gift for her.

I moved to the place where all of my family members were standing and Grandpa patted my shoulder, "I missed you, son."

"I missed you too."

"Ah-ha? Cause it doesn't feel the same to me," Aunt Emily said with a quirked brow.

I shook my head at her with a smile on my face, she never leaves a chance to pull someone's ear.

My eyes moved to Ian and Archer who were savouring their time with their mate and kids. Skylar and Sharon are also twins like their fathers but they don't replicate each other even a bit. Well... Ann and I also don't replicate each other completely, but at least we have the same nose and lips. But these two kids are completely different. Sharon looks more like her fathers and Skylar looks like Maya.

Ian came to me as his eyes landed on me leaving Archer with Maya and the kids and started giving me updates on the pack.

Before I left for the city, I talked to the Turner brothers about their future responsibilities and decided that Ian would be my beta and would be handling all of the pack related or I should say, werewolf-related duties, while I appointed Archer as COO of my company.

"Hello, Alpha. How are things going at your end?" Ian asked.

"Pretty good in the human world, but not so good in the werewolf world."

He sighed in understanding, "I know. He tried to create havoc last night too."

I fisted my hand, if Mom and Dad got to know that he was continuing his sick deeds, then before going violent on him, they would take a toll on me for neglecting my kingdom.

"Glad you realised. Your personal space shouldn't be neglected, but you know when you are a king or future king, you can't do anything but put your people's words and needs above you. But you did the exact opposite."

Once again, Kai reminded me of my ignorance of my people.

Frustrated, I ran my fingers through my hair and asked Ian what that stupid alpha did this time.

"Joseph tried to capture one more female fairy but luckily, the fairy escaped and reported straight to the Fairy king. The Fairy King is going haywire as fairies are getting hunted by the alpha and want to kill Joseph. He threatened him last night one more time and visited me with a deal, either you give him the alpha or he will burn his whole pack down."

I smirked, I know how fun it is to turn things into ashes.

I nodded my head, "Fair enough. Did you do what I asked?"

He bobbed his head, "I made all the arrangements to leave for his pack for tonight itself and also researched his pack members' involvement in this. A few of them love what their alpha is doing because he promised a fairy to each one of them too, and others are scared as they know this thing is just a disaster to their pack, nothing else. I have prepared a list of all the people involved."

I smirked looking at the fifteen names of the people. It had been days since I last hosted someone in our dungeon. Also, there were times when I was angry at people at times in the city but couldn't take my rage out as the human world works differently, but now with these fifteen people, I will be using my dungeon as the rage room.

"Wow... I knew he would be a better beta than me. I am a man of suit and money," Archer said while adjusting his collar with pride.

"Shut up."

Ian and I said in unison to which he busted into laughter, "I missed our trio."

"Trio ha?"

We saw Evan and Ethan coming to us with quirked brows and we smirked at Archer who was grinning and shaking his head, "Okay... Squad."

Ethan smirked at Archer and said, "Well, there is more that you all need to know."

"And that is?" I asked.

"Joseph is a sick man from head to toe. We just found out that he is keeping his mate hostage at his place," Evan heavily sighed.

"What the f**k!"

Ian and Archer exclaimed together but nothing came out of my mouth as my blood was boiling on hearing those words. How dare he keep someone hostage? That too HIS MATE.

"Calm down Ash..."

Evan placed his hand on my shoulder but removed it quickly as the heat in my body burned his palm.

"Brother relax... What happened here?"

Ann placed her hand on my shoulder and I instantly calmed down with her soothing energy. I looked around me and saw the smoke getting clear and the Red River people who were earlier looking at me with pride, were now looking at me with fear.

I fisted my hand, turning my anger button on is not easy, but when I hear mates being not treated fairly by their mates, I can't control myself even a bit. How the f**k they can hurt someone who is specially made for them?

That man will surely go up in smoke from a lot of his body parts.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that..."

I said looking at Evan's hand which Aneria quickly healed with her soothing and cooling energy.

"Nahh... It's fine. I forgot to consider your reaction," He shrugged with a smile on his face.

"I know you will take good care of him..." Ann smirked looking at me and I nodded my head.

"Time for the cake everyone!" Alec announced catching everyone's attention.

We quickly got done with the cake cutting and I gave my gift to Adelina which brought a bright smile to my little girl's face. I smiled, I knew she was going to like it.

"From where did you get a giant unicorn sofa, uncle? It's so pretty!"

"It's not a giant sofa princess, it's just big," Alec chuckled.

"Daddy... it's bigger than my room couch, so yes, it is a giant."

"Well... I have one more thing for you princess..." I said to which her eyes shone brightly.

I took her hand and placed a bracelet on her wrist which had her name, Aden written on it with a little unicorn face beside it.

"This is soooooooo prettyyyyyyyy!"

She jumped up and down and kissed my cheek, "Thank you, uncle. You are the best!"

"You are spoiling her..." Ann said shaking her head with a smile on her face.

"Just like I spoiled you," Uncle Eric said while placing his arm on Ann's shoulder.

Everyone went to have dinner and Alec came to me, "I heard you are leaving tonight for the Ocean Howl Pack."

I nodded.

"Can you do me a favour?"

"What is it? You sound worried."

"A week ago, a she-wolf from my pack found her mate who is from the Ocean Howl Pack. We didn't hear anything bad happening to her, but still, I want to know how she is doing. She didn't visit or call her family. She is just texting."

"Don't worry, I will find out about her."

And will make sure to make that alpha's last few days hard on this earth.
