Last Time

~Elena's POV~ The day my father barged in and threatened me to get the job was the day on which I thought my all problems will be solved but... I am back to square one. I thought of going into all of the companies where the relevant posts were vacant but to my dismay, they all are very far and moreover, they all are in the city where a lot of werewolves live. Even if it's written in my fate, still, I don't want any mate and I will try my best to stay away from the werewolves and their dangerous creepy world. "You are a werewolf too..." Eleanor scoffed in my head. Yes, I am a werewolf. But I don't like my existence even a bit. I wish I was just a human like other normal people out there. There are so many bitter experiences without even living between werewolves, I wonder what worst would have happened to me if I would have lived between people where there is no love and respect. "Not everyone is like this!" Eleanor growled. "And I haven't met those and don't even want to!" I tried to growl back at my wolf but as I always keep my wolf and wolf side suppressed, I couldn't even erupt the vibrations in my throat. "I would have fought that sick father of ours if you wouldn't have chosen to put down on our bond." "Trust me I am more than happy when you are not around. I am better off without you." Eleanor growled but didn't say any other word after this and I sighed in relief, it was not the first time when we argued about this; we always bicker about her desire to be out and be with the one she is supposed to be. I wish I could make her understand my view or... I wish there was any way to live without a wolf. "You will never hear me again!" She growled loudly making me clutch my head. I rolled my eyes, "You said the same thing last time." "This time it's a promise..." She said and faded away in the back of my mind making me blow a breath of relief. One might call me stupid for not accepting my existence and not letting my wolf out but no one will understand that if my family would be normal like humans, I wouldn't be here in this situation today. Mom wouldn't have fought those filthy rogues and lost her life, my father wouldn't have hated me and my sister... She wouldn't have died because of that incident. All of this because of one thing, supernaturals... Werewolves... "Aunty cookies," Chase said pointing at the half-empty jar. I gave him one cookie and sighed, "Chase... Will you be ok tomorrow if I leave you for a few hours?" He looked at me with his adorable brown eyes which soon started to get watery, "What if he comes again?" I wiped his tears and picked him up, "I will be leaving you at Adam's house. He won't find you there. Now will you be ok? I promise I will be back soon." "With money?" I gritted my teeth, I hope one day I can make my father learn a good lesson. He scared this little kid a lot that except for money, this little three year old kid can't think of anything. I caressed his cheek, "With a job. You get the money when you work for it. To possess or use things, it is necessary to earn it through hard work." His brows furrowed and his lips formed in a straight line making his fluffy cheeks rise high and I poked his cheek, "Don't worry, Aunty got your back. You don't have to put a lot of pressure on your precious mind." He brightly smiled and ran to watch his favourite movie. I moved to our room where I listed a few new jobs in the nearby restaurants and cafes and sighed, no matter what, I won't come back without getting a job. ******************* "You look pretty," Chase said while hugging my knees. I looked myself back in the mirror and smiled, this was the same attire that Becs chose to wear in her interview. Gladly, she passed the interview and there were no financial crises in our life after that. Blue formal shirt with a black skirt which is reaching till my knees and black formal heels, this look is just perfect. I hope my interview will be perfect just like my outfit. I reached Adam's place and saw him hovering over the balcony. "Are you trying to jump?" I asked while giggling. "No, I was looking for you." He shouted from the balcony. I reached his apartment but before I could knock on the door, the door flew open and he came out wearing a hat. There was a basket in his hand which confused me, is he going somewhere? But he promised to take care of Chase. "I thought..." I trailed off but couldn't complete my sentence. His eyes moved to the basked and me and he said, "Ohh, it's nothing. Chase never gets a chance to go out so I thought of taking him to a nearby place for a picnic." "A picnic!" Chase jumped up and down in excitement and I chewed my lips, a picnic? What if my father found him? "Adam you know your place is the safest place for him," I tried to reason with him. He placed his hand on mine which he immediately took off understanding what he did and said, "Trust me he will be fine there. There is a beautiful pond nearby with a lot of flowers around it and the best part is not so many people know about it. I am sure your father won't find us and we will be back in two hours." He looked at Chase and continued, "He deserves a moment of peace." He does. I kissed Chase's head and told Adam to come back after spending good two hours. I can trust him. He might be a human but he is still stronger than my father. Adam is a boxer and a more competent fighter than my father. My father is only strong because he has a wolf, if he was wolfless, I would be able to stand against him as his alcoholic state always keeps him weak. I am glad I crossed paths with Adam in the park and he and Chase instantly clicked with each other. He treats Chase like his younger brother and protects him and me always. I remember how easily he threw my father away from me when he tried to slap me. I flinched when his head hit the wall as my heart couldn't bear that sight. Luckily my father wasn't that much hurt and he ran away before Adam would've called the police. Yeah... That is what he was about to do. But I don't think even after all of the things that my father did to me, I can see him behind bars. I just want to see him living on his own without troubling us. Not behind bars or worst... Dead. I shook that thought off and looked at the address of the first cafe and sighed, I will try my best to get a job. No... I will get a job.
