Caroline's p.o.v
I followed Nate in the Mansion while looking around, for some reason the halls were darker with dim lights so I couldn't see much, only the shadows of what looked like paintings were on the wall.
"Why is this place dark?," I asked.
"It's our mistress's orders," he answered.
I followed him upstairs uncomfortably, despite not asking anymore questions and looking very calm from the outside, I was freaking out badly, Nate just called someone a mistress, I didn't know how to react. Although one thing was for sure, if Rick was really married I wasn't going to stay with him, my heart was aching so much and I didn't know why.
"This will be your room," he said while pushing two closed doors open.
"Thank you," I answered then walked in.
