Sabina POV

When I got home I couldn’t wait to try on my uniform, I had doubted at first but after putting it on, I looked good. I looked better than I ever did in my regular clothes at home or at school and that spoke volumes to my sense of style. I stood on my toes to imitate wearing heels but I still couldn’t see how that would look so I decided to take my mom’s black heels and try them on.

I looked like a goddess I thought as I laughed, but my laugh quickly disappeared as I heard my mom opening the door and yelling my name.

“Am in my room mum” I said as I rushed to close the door, and take off the uniform making sure to hide it. I jumped into my night gown and sat on my study desk before she could open the door.

“No dinner tonight?” she asked as she walked in uninvited and without even knocking.

“Oh, not today, I just have a lot of homework” I said

“Ok at least you are still focused anyway how it went?” she asked as she threw herself on my bed and I raised an eyebrow to that.

“It went very well” I said as I recalled the majestic looking restaurant and remembering that it was Marcus Pressley that we were going to be serving. But there was no need to mention that to my mum and freak her out.

“Oh that’s good, can I see the uniform?” she asked and my eyes widened

“What?” I asked

“Can I see what you will be wearing, they did give it to you right?” she asked

“Uh... no we are getting the uniforms tomorrow” I lied

“Ok that’s fine. You know the more I think about it the more I think this job will be good for you it will teach you to be responsible, but remember to always be careful. I cannot stress this enough honey but you must always watch your back” she said as she dragged herself up clearly exhausted

“Just stop with the paranoia mum” I mumbled

“Am serious Sabina, having you in the inner city is very risky for the both of us” she said looking serious

“Maybe if I knew what I was hiding from I would be able to hide better” I said

“Just do as I say young lady, and I mean it” she said and I rolled my eyes

“Anyway, I will just order pizza ok” she said “Hawaiian?” she asked and I nodded then she left my room.

 I decided to go to bed early to recharge my body because I didn’t want to be tired the next day. After eating my food I bathed and then went to bed. Arianna was going to pick me up at 6am and I hoped to God my mum would be gone by then. I didn’t want her seeing me in my uniform and forbidding me from going to work. So I decided to confirm with her what time she would be leaving and lucky for me she said she was going to be gone by 5:30. I was relieved as I knew that I could avoid her but I also knew I would have to carry extra clothes to change into once I knocked off.

Arianna was at my place at 6am on the dot, the reason we had decided it would be better if she picked me up was because between the two of us she was best at keeping time. I didn’t even get time to have breakfast because I had kind of overslept; Arianna promised me we would get something on the way. The restaurant was only 30 minutes away from where we stayed so we knew we would be extra early because we were only supposed to be there at 8.

We passed by McDonald to get a quick breakfast and when we got to the restaurant we parked outside and started eating while we waited for Antonio to arrive.

“I can’t believe we are actually working” Arianna said as she finished up her coffee

“Me too, but I can’t wait to meet new people and most importantly get paid” I said winking

“You and me both, but what do you think of working for Alexander Pressler” she asked and I shrugged before answering

“I mean I don’t even know the guy so I don’t even get what the big deal is about” I said and before she could try to convince me he was a big scary guy, we saw Antonio pulling up and we started polishing our makeup, I hadn’t realised how quick time had flew while we sat here eating. Now that I could see it was time to work I was scared out of my mind.

We changed our flat comfortable shoes for the heels, thank goodness I could walk in heels otherwise today wolves been a disaster. When we were done we followed Antonio inside and we started setting up the tables, he commended us for being extra early although the guests were supposed to arrive in the afternoon and would party well into the night. We set up the tables and double checked if everything was perfect for the guests the whole morning and Uncle Phil only came in for a short while to wish us good luck and then he was off to Canada on a business trip, I was relieved we wouldn’t have to work under his watchful eye.

Then the guests started arriving.

Every one of the ladies looked like there were from rich families; you know the ones that holiday in Aspen or the Hamptons. They were very fashionable too, a lot of jewellery and a lot of diamonds. If the restaurant was to get robbed the robbers would easily become billionaires from one job.

“Sabina, you will be clearing the VIP” Antonio said distracting me from my envious thoughts

“VIP ok got it” I said

“And you realise what that means right?” he asked

“Yes I will be serving the important guests” I said

“No you will be entertaining the guest of honour” as he said that my eyes widened in horror, what but why, why me

“But am new what if I mess up?” I asked nervously

“Don’t worry you have been paired with Kim and she knows everything” he said and I looked over at Kim who had never smiled ever since we got here. She was pretty, dark haired with hazel eyes and a sharp cheek bone.

Great, I was stuck with Maleficent...

“Ok no problem” I said clearing my throat and walking over to Kim, who silently pointed at things i had to do. She had overdone her makeup clearly she was hoping to catch the eye of the young and cruel Mafia, and she sure had no competition there because I intended to stay as far away from him as possible.

But they would make a good couple, he probably looked like the Grinch that stole Christmas and a perfect partner for Cruella De Vil here...

“Sabina you are up” Antonio yelled my name and from the look on everyone’s faces I knew that the infamous Mafia had entered the building.
