****5 YEARS LATER****
HARRISON POV
I won’t tolerate thieves in my territory. We were ambushed this morning and I will not let it happen again! I see the target 10 feet ahead of me, and I’m trying my best to keep quiet, to use my best sneak attack. Once they are turned around, I have my chance. I position my body to pounce and jump out. “GOTCHA!”
“Daddy!!!” My little princess says screaming and running into my arms. I pick her up and twirl her around. She quickly licks the chocolate off her lips from the cookies she stole from the kitchen, causing me to laugh. She is the spitting image of Brighton with bright green eyes. The only thing she got from me is my dark hard and spunky attitude.
“Caught you red handed young lady! What were you thinking when you took over half of the cookies, as if we didn’t notice…”
She forms the saddest little pout, knowing I’m a sucker for her antics. “I’m sorry daddy- it won’t happen again,” she says, as she salutes her hand to her head. I put her down and take her hand, walking her back to the house. “Is mom mad?” she says with real worry. We all know who the disciplinarian is in this household. “No… just be happy Nana brought extras.” She smiles at me, then we hear a voice being cleared out.
“Alright you two, we have to get ready for the ceremony. Sara, take your brother upstairs. Nana is waiting to give you baths.” Brighton is on porch, arms crossed, but smiling sweetly. Our three year old son, Johnathon- my mini me- stands in same stance, looking up towards his mother. I hear my daughter mumble under her breath before heading up the stairs- she hates bath time. When she gets to the top of the porch, Brighton bends down and wipes chocolate off the corner of her mouth, giggling at our daughter. She gives both the kids a kiss as they head inside.
I climb the steps and kiss her on the forehead, holding her body close to mine. My love for Brighton increases with each moment we have with each other. She’s given me two beautiful kids and all the happiness I could have ever hoped for. “We have to get ready too sir,” she says, taking my hand and leading us to our bedroom.
Once in our room, I drag her to the bed and kiss her roughly before she can protest. My hands travel down her body and lift up her dress. As I kiss her neck and caress her thigh, she lets out quiet moans, a skill we had to learn over the years. Before I can get my hand to where I really want it, she breathes into my ear huskily, “We’ll be late.”
“They can’t exactly start without us.”
She giggles into my neck. “You’re so naughty Alpha Harrison.” Man, I love it when she calls me that. I kiss her hard again, my tongue dominating her mouth.
Then three loud knocks on our door ice out our heat. “Get out here you horny bastard and leave her alone!!!! We’re going to be late,” my ex-Beta yells from the other side. I’m going to kill him.
BRIGHTON POV
Tonight is the night of my and Harris’ Alpha and Luna ceremony. Alpha Steven is officially stepping down, leaving us to lead the pack. Harrison has trained almost his whole life for this moment, and I know he’s going to do well. Maggie has also helped me to prepare for my role, and I know we can lead the pack with pride.
Everyone is cramped into our living room getting ready. After Harrison stormed out of our room to punch Mark a few times, I was able to shower and get ready. Maggie and Steven are helping the kids put on their shoes. Both Sara and Johnathon have everyone wrapped around their fingers, and it's adorable how Alpha Steven dotes on them. Harrison is still sending death glares to Mark, but him and his mate are just taunting him. Mark found his mate over a year ago, and she acts just like him. They are both terrible flirts and I swear I didn’t see them for the first three months after they found each other.
When everyone is ready, we head out to the front of the house where a little red headed girl is running as if her life depended on it. “Auntie Brighton, Uncle Harris!!!”
I laugh as Harrison picks her up, holding the 5 year old to his hip. Stepping into the clearing is Dustin with a waddling Sally, three weeks away from her due date. “Tell me why you decided to walk all the way here Sally?” I scold because she looks so tired.
“I’m over this pregnancy. This little man needs to come out and come out now.” She looks to Dustin, “We aren’t having any more, do you hear me?”
He just laughs at her. “What do you mean? We have at least three more to go.”
“I am not starting a whole pack here!”
Everyone laughs as the two bicker, who are oblivious to their audience. Their daughter August gets down and walks over to Sara. They’re practically inseparable and have been that way since diaper-hood.
Maggie busts out a tripod and sets out a camera. Everyone gets into position, because we do this every holiday, every event, and important dinners throughout the year. Everyone usually groans and makes a fuss, but today, we all are truly happy to be together.
Walking towards the pack house for the ceremony, the kids run up ahead, leap frogging and playing tag. Even Johnathon is trying to keep up with his sister and niece. Harrison and I are walking arm in arm, knowing what this ceremony means to us.
Our love for each other has only grown, especially when we had the kids. Words cannot explain how much he completes my life, and how much he has added happiness to it.
We’ve reached the stage to where our ceremony is. Steven and Maggie take the kids to sit with them on the stage, and Mark and his mate take their places on the other side. Dustin, Sally, and August take their place in the crowd next to all of our friends. It’s crazy how we all met as teenagers, with no real vision of the future, and this is where we are now. Cole and Jessie sit beside them with all four, yes four, of their children, with one on the way- I think Dustin secretly wants to compete with them. Brian and his mate sit behind them with their sweet daughter in tow. And further down the row, I spot Anna with her mate. They came all the way out here to support us and it's good to see her with her old pack. Their two year old son is struggling to keep still in his seat, but then Anna whips out her phone for him to play with.
Harrison and I hold hands, looking out towards our pack as the elder starts the ceremony. When I moved to Opus Moon, I would have never thought I would have landed here. I have the love of my life next to me- the Alpha, of all people, we have two beautiful children, and all of our friends and family are happy. Everything isn’t perfect, but I know our life is going to be nothing but full of love.
We take the vows as Alpha and Luna and our pack cheer and howl for congratulations. Harrison turns towards me with those honey brown eyes that I’ll never get sick of. “We made it, Luna Brighton. I love you so much.” He pulls me in for a passionate kiss as the crowd erupts into more cheers, and I hear our kids ‘yuck’. I laugh, holding Harrison to me. “And I love you, Alpha Harrison.”
The end.
