Chapter 6“Where is she?” Wyn asked as they circled the daycare for the third time Monday morning. By then it was seven-ten and they hadn’t seen Marianne’s car either in the center’s lot or parked on the street. “Running late, perhaps,” Christoph replied. He drove into the lot behind the coffee shop and parked. “Let’s get a table on the patio and watch. She’s bound to show up since she’s the one who arranged this.” “God, she’d better.” They found a vacant table, Wyn ordered coffee when the waitress came by, and then locked his gaze on the two doors to the center. Several parents arrived with children in tow, and left soon after without them. None of them was Marianne. “I’m going to go over there,” Wyn said once he’d finished half his coffee. Christoph nodded, getting up when Wyn did. “
