The dichotomy of darkness

246 Words
In the depths of the night where shadows dance, There lies a darkness, a mysterious trance, A realm of the unknown, where fears take flight, A place where even the bravest tremble with fright. The darkness that surrounds us, so deep and profound, Is it a friend or a foe, in which we are bound? It cloaks us in its embrace, a shroud of black, Yet within its depths, there's no turning back. The very dark night, it whispers secrets untold, Stories of the past, of mysteries unfold, It speaks of forgotten dreams and lost desires, Of hopes extinguished like fading fires. In the very dark, we find solace and pain, A paradox of emotions, like a stormy sea's reign, It engulfs us in its silence, a deafening sound, A place where lost souls are perpetually bound. It's in the very dark that shadows come alive, Dancing in the moonlight, they thrive and survive, Their dark tendrils reaching, grasping at the light, Trying to extinguish it with all their might. But in the very dark, there's a beauty to behold, A kind of serenity, a quiet that's bold, It's in this darkness that we find our true selves, In its depths, we unearth the secrets it delves. So do not fear the very dark, embrace it instead, For within its depths, there's nothing to dread, It's a mirror of our souls, a reflection of our fears, A reminder that even in darkness, there can be cheers.
