BRIANNA'S POV:
I was getting nervous, and Grey getting in and around my car at certain points of the drive was getting me annoyed, but also laughing because he would pop a wheelie and shake his ass so I wouldn't honk at him.
He took off the highway a couple cities away from where we needed to be, and he started to take turn after turn before he found a burger spot and he pulled in and made sure the spot he grabbed had a big spot next to it for my car.
He took off his helmet and ran a hand through his hair to get it all pushed back. I got to the other end of the car and he put his s**t on the back of my car and I sighed. "What did you even pack?" I asked and he shrugged.
"Clean clothes." He told me and I nodded slowly, looking over his cut, and while yes, it was a good idea to have an MC man as my fake man, but I didn't want my dad getting his MC chapter up here in trouble.
"I think... and I know you're going to get mad... but I don't want my dad to do anything to the MC chapter up here. Maybe you should just be a guy who works at the strip joint I work at with a bike and a s**t ton of piercings and tattoos." I knew he wasn't covered, but he had a couple on his shoulders so it was seen on his neck and the back of his neck and if he wore a short sleeve you would see part of the angel wings he had on his upper arms. Not to mention his n*****s were pierced and other yummy parts.
"I don't think I am going to walk around your fathers place naked, he shouldn't see my prince albert or my nipples." He told me and I rolled my eyes. "Unless you think I should show up like that... the faster you're told to go home the better right?" He asked and I bit my lip. "What?"
"Let's just get something to eat." I told him and he followed me, staying close, pushing my hip with his into the counter. He grabbed my hips and I let him lead me to a table to wait. I was trying to stay calm, not pushing him away, getting used to his hands on me at all times when he wanted something.
"You going to tell me any other reasons why you want to go home?" I heard him ask as he brought the little tray of our food and I sighed.
"I haven't seen my mom in a little over 2 years." I told him and looked away. I missed my mom. She was completely under my dad's thumb, her money is his money... well more like her money needs to be approved by his signature at the bank.
"Why? Did she cut you off too?" He asked and I bit into my burger before getting to the napkins and wiping my mouth.
"Dad said no contact, he meant it. She would be out on her ass faster than she could hang up the phone with me. She doesn't leave the house because-" I decided before I just blurted it out, that I had to tell him, he could not act funny in front of it. "And I am telling you this because you can't laugh, or make fun of it. I will kill you myself." I told him and he looked confused.
"What kind of s**t is that to say? You think I would make fun of your mom?"
"You know what tourettes is?" I asked him and he shook his head. "It's... it's like someone who has ticks. My mom sometimes whistles or has face twitches, and when she is under a lot of stress she can shout curse words or random words. She gets really insecure about it, she never really leaves the house unless she's calm and knows it's going to be a good time. She knows people make fun of her behind her back, I had friends who did it and it broke me. You can't do anything... Gabriel, I am serious." I whispered and he nodded.
"Bri, I don't know what is going to happen, but even if I laugh the first time she does something and I am not sure that's what it was, I am telling you right now it's not intentionally mean. You said she whistles, if she does it out of nowhere and I smile at her, I am not laughing at her in my head."
"It's more than that. It's cursing, it's a loud f**k off, f**k you, bullshit, out of nowhere. It's her arm going up to her ear a couple times, her winking as she talks. It's a lot of s**t, and I don't want her to think you're disrespecting her." I told him and he nodded and I looked down, I didn't tell anyone about my mom. If they were important I would tell them eventually, and as it was, I never thought I would need to explain this to him.
"Bri, you and I will have a moment where we get to talk to your mom, I will tell her if I ever laugh, or smile, it's not because I am making fun of her, I will be smiling or laughing because I think it's cute or I don't know... adorable. I don't want her to think I am disrespectful." He told me and he even reached over and grabbed my hand so I would look at him as he said it. "I am not there to f**k you over, not there to make your mom or brothers uncomfortable. I am there to show your dad that he can't tell you what to do and get away with it. You're part of the club, you're family, Tara said so herself."
"That is sweet, but I miss my mom, and I miss my brothers... when they're not assholes they're so supportive." I told him and he seemed very skeptical.
"I am sure they're going to pay you back for that art s**t they broke."
"My stained glass?" I asked knowing that was what they broke but he said shit... did he look at them and think they were s**t?
"Yeah."
"You think it looked like s**t?" I asked too quickly to worry about how desperate to hear the truth.
"No. I didn't get to see it before they ruined it." He told me seriously and I kept my eyes down, knowing that sounded a little needy. "You know I never thought one piece of your art was shit."
"Do I?" I asked knowing he didn't see that much of it.
"Bri, you are f*****g amazing. In all ways." He told me and I rolled my eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me. You know how much I hate that shit." He growled out and I sighed and looked away. "Bri, look at me."
"Really Grey, it's nice of you to say. I like my own art and that is okay with me. I know a few people have liked it at Dani's shop and she has made some of my tattoos on others, but it's just tattoos-"
"Brianna, your art is f*****g good. If you got into the tattoo business you could make a killing. Don't doubt that shit."
"I want more than to cover myself in my art. I want it on walls and in galleries." I told him and shook my head. I want to see my art on a wall of an old building I used to get to go to when I was a kid. That was a dream. A stupid kid dream that I had made up with one of my nannies who used to take me out on weekends for 'culture' and art studies.
I wanted to tell him my silly little dream, but he would just try and tell me that it wasn't silly, and I was going to laugh and maybe cry if he did. My dad had told me it was stupid to dream something like that when I was going to be a doctor. My mom just told me, quietly that night, that I could do it if I put my all into it.
I was working on the 'all' part. I loved my art, but I didn't have time to sit there and do everything I wanted to every little piece. Or just sit there and complete part after part... as it was if I wanted to finish those glass pieces it could have taken me 5 days, instead it took me almost 2 weeks.
I ate my food, and I got back in the car as he slid on his bike. We headed north, and I tried to think of good things, my mom, her food, her baking, her smile... I thought about my nieces and nephews and my brothers wives that I was going to be glad to see. I knew they would all see Grey for who he was, someone helping me.
Unlike my dad who would be too pissed to see the truth. I liked the idea of him blowing his lid about us in front of others, and I would pay good money if someone got it on camera.
We got closer and I watched Grey check his surroundings as we got to the big houses with the big gates. When we got to the gated community I pulled out my ID, said the man on the bike was my official guest and we would be coming and going for as long as I stayed. He waved Grey closer and he seemed confused as he shut his bike off and walked up.
"Is there an issue?"
"No Grey, he needs your ID so he can make a note of the name and your license plate that you have access to come and go." I told him and he looked at me like he didn't believe me, and then I just nodded at him. Serious enough for him to pull out his wallet and hand over his card.
We were done in ten minutes tops, and I pulled up farther and farther into the gated world I was so glad to leave, and I could see... when I pulled up to the house, Grey seemed a bit nervous.
I got out of the car and went to pop the trunk for our things, he grabbed his, and my bag, so I was left to carry that l was left to carry the helmet he brought me up to the door. I pushed the doorbell, keeping calm knowing it wasn't going to be my dad that answered. I smiled at one of the older maids that has worked here for as long as I have been alive.
"Ms. Brianna! You're here. Good to see that face." She cupped my cheek and I made sure to give her a hug. "And you brought a man." She noticed Grey when she pulled away from me.
"Ms. Hannah, this is Gabriel, he will be staying with me while I stay here." I told her and she looked from me to him and nodded.
"Between you and me that is not going to go over well for you. However I am happy you have someone making you happy. Let me take the things up." She reached for my stuff and I shook my head and pulled away.
"You know me Hannah, I can take my own things up. I will come down once we're settled, don't feel like you have to tell anyone." I told her and she nodded and started to lead the way. Grey came with us, and I was looking at it all through his eyes. s**t was everywhere, from faberge eggs to a single Monet painting.
I kept walking, and when we got to my old room, she pushed open the door and told me that if she knew I was coming she would have made the bed. She would get on it right away when we were done settling in.
"Thank you Ms. Hannah." I told her and she nodded and smiled before leaving us.
"Maids huh?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes.
"Yes. As well as nannies and tutors and just about everything else so we didn't have to actually see my father." I told him and he just looked around.
"She's going to make the bed... so where am I going to sleep?" He asked and I just worked my jaw.
"Spare bedroom is near my parents. My brother's old bedrooms are kind of next door." I told him and he nodded slowly. "Or... stay here and piss my father off as well." I added and he looked at me before nodding. "Doesn't mean we are having sex." I saw the look in his eye as he started to look me up and down.
"I didn't say anything about s*x Bri." He winked and moved to set his bag down and then mine. "Are we supposed to get unpacked?"
"No... we can leave it." I told him and he nodded slowly before looking around.
"Is that you?" He asked and went right to my old mirror and started to look at some pictures... and I knew what he would find there. Me and my old boyfriend kissing in a photobooth, him kissing my cheek, me doing the same to him, and then us kissing for the next two. "Who the f**k is he?"
"Mathew went to Oxford for college, never really heard from him again." I shrugged, we dated because we knew each other, we had gone to all the same schools and parties and it was just easy for us to like each other. At graduation we said goodbye, good luck, and see you sometime in the future.
I got to my old pictures and saw some old friends I hadn't even thought of in years. I saw Grey take the pictures of me and Matt off and he tossed it upside down. "Any other ex's around here?"
"Do you count?" I asked with a laugh and he reached for me and grabbed at me.
"After all this s**t Bri, I am not going to be an ex." He looked around and I tried to see my girly room through his eyes again. I had that four poster princess bed that used to have the drapes over it when I was a kid. I had two dressers, a big TV on a mount, a makeup table, a full length mirror and a walk in closet. I knew I was a better off kid, that was never a delusion.
I got to my closet and turned on the light and saw all the jewelry I ever had still surrounding the middle piece and my dresses and s**t were still up. It was like a tomb.
"You hear me Bri?"
"I'll believe it when I see it." I told him and he laughed before kind of crowding me into the closet.
"You going to be able to melt into me when I kiss you and grab your ass in front of your old man?" He asked me and I blushed but nodded. I mean... how would I not? "Ready to go down?" He asked me, and I moved my focus to him now.
"Yeah. Not really happy to see my father, but happy to surprise my mom." I told him and he grabbed my hand and we started for the door. I felt my stomach drop as we headed back down the stairs and I led him out to the back yard where I saw my family and a couple others all gathered around and I pulled on his hand until we were close to my parents, and I smiled wide at the look on my mom's face.
