The rest of the week was spent ditching school with Brady. Her mom didn’t even seem to mind.
Charlotte was surprised when her mom didn’t rub the whole mate thing in her face. If anything, she was helpful, giving extra hugs, and finally handed over that tub of Moose Tracks ice cream.
Then, in the mornings, she even offered to drive Charlotte wherever she wanted as she was making her way out the door.
“No thanks, I like the walk.”
It wasn’t a long walk to Brady’s, and she liked taking her time after she quickly made it off her street. The one she shared with him.
