Livia’s Point of View
You might say that I'm living the typical teenage witch dream, but that is not the case. Today is my eighteenth birthday and a huge party will be held. The party isn’t to celebrate the fact that I am reaching the age of maturity or the fact that I can drink. Tonight, Avalon, the Wizard King, will introduce me as his mate to the whole supernatural world, as I've just reached the mating age.
Maybe I should be excited, but heck, I’m not. The dude didn’t have the guts to come to see me. We’ve been living in the same castle for almost two years now and he has just seen me ONCE since then, the day I moved here. Well, we have been kind of forced to move here. By we, I mean my mom Mel, my little sister Lea and me.
Days after my sixteenth birthday, the King’s enforcers came to our house and told us that I had to move to the castle since I would be mated to the King. Mom and Lea had the option to move with me or stay behind. Mom decided to come with me, bringing Lea along, of course. It has always just been the three of us. My father is not exactly in the picture; ‘it’s complicated’ would be a huge understatement. He also doesn’t like to show his face, literally ever.
I cannot leave the castle’s premises, so somehow, I am my mate’s prisoner. How lucky you are, Liv, you might say. The only things that keep me from losing my sanity living in this golden cage are my family, my closest friend Cali and a girl’s best friends—Netflix and Spotify.
At least my mom and Lea can leave the castle, though they stay here most of the time to keep me company. I imagine that it sucks for Lea, as she is only nine. But that good-natured little creature never complains; she’s really not like me. Anyways, my mom and Lea leave the castle every Friday evening and come back on Saturday evening. They go to I-don’t-even-know-where to see my infamous father. Yeah, yeah, you can feel the love.
Before I was locked in the castle, I used to go there with them. It was nice, not because of my father, but because I had the funniest and most unlikely group of teachers ever: an Elf, a Fairy, and a Nympho. Yes, Nympho with an “O” for orgasm, as she would say. I miss those chicks so much, almost as much as I miss my freedom!
By the way, ‘see’ my father wouldn’t be the best word to describe it, since he doesn’t reveal his face. You might say, Liv, this sucks. It does, big time. He makes us wear MASKS when we see him, magical masks. Creepy crap, right? The only one who gets to see him is Lea. She’s a total daddy’s girl. Gross.
My father’s identity is a mystery, even to my mother, his own mate. You might ask me why he hides; maybe he’s a wanted criminal, or he has a hideous face. Well, supernatural-google says that no man has been wanted for the last eighteen years. So, not the case. Then, what about the hideous face possibility, which would be the lamest reason? Well, Lea swears that he is incredibly handsome.
Anyways, enough about me for now, we have a party to go to. All of the guests are already enjoying the party, which includes my mom and Lea. Soon, I will make my grand entrance and reveal the beautiful face of the Wizard King’s long-awaited mate. You all know exactly how much I’m looking forward to that. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the party. I heard they have the best Fairy Wine ;)

I made my way down the stairs of the ball hall, my too-long light blue gown flowing behind me. I don’t think I've ever seen this many people gathered before, a huge array of people of all species in the six Realms. The thing is, the different species don't mingle very often. I, for example, have only met an Elf, a Fairy, and a Nympho, besides witches and wizards, of course.
The crowd is eagerly waiting for me to make my so-called grand entrance. People are really curious to see the Wizard King's mate. The dude has waited for a mate for centuries, so yes, I understand that everyone can hardly wait to see me.
Besides that, this is one of the first social events reuniting all of the species monarchs and leaders since they’d signed the Peace Treaty not too long ago, after a centuries-long bloody war. All the Kings of the six Realms and the Pixie Queen were invited. So what is happening today is a big deal, a huge event.
