Emily. As I ascend the concrete steps, the paparazzi’s cameras flash and their voices fill the air, complimenting my appearance. Uninterested in their opinions, I continue my stride. As I walk through the double doors, my senses are overwhelmed by the piercing gazes and hushed whispers of the onlookers, causing my face to flush and my hands to tremble. As I enter, my head held high, I quickly scan the room for Aiden, the person I came for. It takes a moment, but eventually, I spot him sitting at the bar next to a young man.
