Sombra was not a patient invalid. Chaz had to threaten, cajole and all but sit on the foreman to keep him off his feet to allow the bone to heal. It was three days before Chaz could get the other man to Ash Fork where the doctor had put a cast on his leg but pronounced Chaz’s splint a professional and serviceable substitute. The wounds, he’d said, were healing well and past the point to be stitched. With philosophical calmness, Sombra said he wouldn’t fuss over a few more scars to add to his growing collection.
