"There's a lake a few miles away," announced Pepper suddenly, startling Alisson out of her berry picking.
She lifted her nose and sniffed at the air deeply, taking in the light breeze blowing in their direction and trying to pick up the scent of the lake, but could not smell or hear any water body.
"I can't sense anything," she whined grumpily as she straightened up and placed the berries in the handkerchief she had spread out on the ground to hold them.
