“You want to what?” Augustin asked. He was clearly surprised at my request.
“My friend,” I said, “Your hospitality is always excellent. I just have a craving for a cheeseburger, a cheap, greasy American cheeseburger, and I know that I can get one in the town on the mainland.”
“No, no, I understand that very clearly,” he shook his head. “But did I hear you say that you would like to take Alison with you?”
