CHAPTER FIVE Sharp pain exploded through my head as darkness obscured my vision. A splitting headache, unlike anything I had ever felt before, washed over my brain like a wave, making me cry out in agony. I undid the straps around my body and pitched forward, the headset popping off my head at the same time, and I landed flat on the hard concrete floor, panting and moaning as I clutched my aching head.
